Vehicle Story

This 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP coupe was first sold on August 17 of its model year from S&K Buick GMC in Springfield, Illinois and has covered 36,807 miles in the time since. The car spent most of its life in Columbus, Georgia, where it was primarily used to take the previous owner to and from work. Power comes from a turbocharged EcoTec 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, and this GXP is one of 169 coupes finished in Mysterious Black (41U) with the automatic transmission. A black Targa top shades the black leather interior, and this Solstice is now offered with a CARFAX report, cargo net, and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

This Solstice wears a Mysterious Black (41U) finish and has a matching removable Targa top, making it one of 388 units produced in this body style, as the majority of were configured as soft-top convertibles according to data from a Solstice coupe production database. This example has honeycomb air intakes on the front bumper, factory-installed fog lamps, chrome-style door handles, and a polished dual-outlet exhaust system at the rear.

Factory 18” chrome wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with red calipers bearing GXP lettering.

The premium package-equipped interior is fitted with black leather bucket seats displaying GXP embroidery on the headrests, along with matching door panels, carpeting, and other surfaces. Floor mats with GXP lettering line the footwells. Comfort and convenience options include power windows and door locks, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, tinted windows, and air conditioning. The stereo system is a factory AM/FM/CD head unit with XM connectivity and is wired to a factory-installed subwoofer located between the passenger-side seat, and the car is OnStar-capable. The rear hatch opens to access a storage area with an optional cargo net.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and a fuel gauge. The digital odometer shows 36,807 miles, which are described as original according to the seller.

The EcoTec 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four features direct injection and boasted output of 260 horsepower at 5,300 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 when new. A number of service items are noted on the CARFAX report including replacement of the air filter in 2015, while the seller reports that the radiator was flushed two years ago upon purchase. Power is transferred to the rear limited-slip differential through a 5-Speed GM 5L40E automatic transmission. The car has been dealer maintained since new.

Photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.

The CARFAX report notes minor damage to the front right corner of the vehicle resulting from an incident which occurred during October of 2017.
