Vehicle Story

This 1934 Ford two-door is a custom build with a Gibbons fiberglass body that rides on Eagle coilovers and develops power from a performance-upgraded big-block 540ci V8 powertrain. The Chevrolet “Big M” Dart motor incorporates the use of Hilborn fuel injection, a hydraulic roller cam, and performance headers. Enhancements include a chrome-finished steering column, power windows, a power-operated rear rumble seat, and a chrome-finished shift lever for the 3-speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Finished in yellow over a two-tone leather and vinyl interior with flame design accents, this coupe is now offered with build documentation and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

This coupe is constructed of a Gibbons fiberglass body that exhibits an exposed engine bay, chopped roofline, and rear-hinged doors with a yellow paint scheme. Brightwork consists of headlight housings, grille and radiator shell, sideview mirrors, and side-exit exhausts. The seller notes that all of the glass was replaced approximately 6 months ago. A power-operated rumble seat has been installed in the rear.

Custom five-spoke Torque Thrust aluminum wheels are mounted to staggered-width tires at both front and rear. The front-end architecture is from Heidts, and the suspension rides on Eagle coilovers. Stopping power comes from power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The interior has a two-person bench seat with two-tone white and yellow leather and vinyl upholstery, offset by orange perimeter piping. The door panels display a flame pattern in the same color scheme and materials, and the carpeting is dark gray with matching floor mats. Amenities include an Alpine AM/FM/CD head unit with six speakers, power windows, a chrome-finished steering wheel, and air conditioning that is installed but not currently connected for full operation. The seller notes a padded roll bar was added to the interior.

Instrumentation is rendered in the form of aftermarket gauges for speed, fuel level, and other vehicle systems. The odometer reads 5,500 miles, indicative of the miles driven since the build was completed.

The Chevrolet 540ci Dart Big M big-block is a build from Motor Machines Super Shop, and has received custom headers, Hilborn electronic fuel injection, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. Power, which is reported to be in the 700-hp range, is sent to the rear wheels via a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission with Gear Vendor overdrive and a Ford 9” rear end.

The frame has been powder-coated. Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.

The sale includes a hood, side panels, build invoices, and documentation. Photos of the awards the car has won can be found in the galley, but the seller notes that the trophies will not go with the car. A video is provided for viewing below.
