Vehicle Story

This 1930 Ford Model A Coupe has been owned by members of the same family for over 50 years, having served as the seller's mode of transportation to high school, seeing varied weekend use, and more recently giving rides to grandchildren during that time. Powered by a 201ci inline-four-cylinder paired with a 3-speed sliding-mesh manual transmission, the car's exterior, interior, and mechanicals were refreshed in 2000, while a 12-volt electrical system conversion was also performed during the car's life. Reported to have been garage-kept during the seller's ownership period, this 1931 Ford Model A is offered on a clear California title in the seller's name.

The body was resprayed in pale yellow while the fenders and running boards were finished in black as part of the refurbishment in 2000 per the seller. Gallery photos show paint that exhibits a shine, and features include a louvered engine cover, a rumble seat, and stainless steel trim.

The 103.5" wheelbase vehicle is equipped with four-wheel mechanical drum brakes and two-tone color-matching wire wheels with stainless steel caps. A full-size spare is mounted at the rear.

As a part of the restoration effort completed in 2000, the interior was refreshed with channel-stitched, tweed fabric upholstery and matching door panels, while the dash and carpeting were also replaced. Photos show "modern" driving controls, which represented Ford's departure from the configuration used on all previous models.

The rumble seat is covered in black vinyl and enjoyed on weekends by the seller's grandchildren. A set of dash-mounted gauges is visible to the right of the steering wheel.

The 201ci L-head inline-four was reportedly refreshed during the seller's ownership, with specific attention given to the carburetor and radiator. The drivetrain consists of a 3-speed sliding-mesh manual transmission. Per the seller, the 12-volt electrical system is the only modification, and evidence of a leak is noted in the area of the radiator pump seal.

Additional photos showing the condition of the underside are available in the gallery.

@SPEED – Do you have the Gravel Shields that are missing from under the engine ? ...

Don't have any gravel shields. Probably never had them originally when my father bought in 1966 (oldest cert of ownership I have in my file) . I only drove on paved roads when I drove to high school.
