Vehicle Story

This 1977 Chevrolet C20 Scottsdale Camper Special Deluxe is powered by its original big block 454 V8 engine and is mated to an automatic transmission. Factory equipment includes tow hitch, power door locks, accessory outlet, CB radio, heater and Air Conditioning. The exterior is finished in a two-tone color scheme, Neutral tan and Buckskin.  Seller states this C20 retains most of its original paint.  The interior is finished in the same two-tone color combination as the exterior. Prior to being acquired by the seller, this C20 was parked and untouched for approximately 20 years in Mesa, AZ.  This C20 is being sold with a clear Arizona title in the seller's name.

This Chevrolet is finished in a two-tone neutral tan and buckskin exterior. There is a small amount of rust noted on the bottom left front fender, a slight dent in the middle of the lower half of the tailgate and the seller states the upper trim on the drivers bed side is coming loose. Per the seller, the truck retains the majority of its original paint with only the drivers side lower cab showing signs of an older repaint. The seller notes that no paintwork was performed in their reconditioning process, photos showing the condition of the truck in as-found condition can be seen in the gallery. The Camper Special Edition new from the factory included the Camper Special nameplate, special wiring harness for a slide-in camper, heavy-duty front/rear springs and shocks and a heavy-duty front stabilizer bar.  The Deluxe Special added a rear stabilizer bar, Elimipitch stabilizer package (includes a set of shock absorbers which tie together the bed and the back of the cab) as well as a set of removable shock absorbers which added removable stabilizers that tie together the camper overhang and front cowl. The package also adds the Camper tie-down which kicks in mounting points in the exterior bedside onto which the slide-in camper tie downs mount.

The factory steel wheels complete with OEM hub caps are on retained this C20 Scottsdale.  The tires have been recently replaced with a set of Firestone Transforce AT's, amongst other service items for the suspension including rear axle seals and wheel cylinders.  A full-size spare tire is also included in the sale

The interior has been partially restored, including a new vinyl seat cover with plaid inserts with sun visors upholstered in the same vinyl.  Additional items replaced include the carpet, dash pad, seat belts, dash bezels, and door armrests. Per the seller, the original door panels sun faded but in good condition and have been redyed. The floor-boards are solid throughout with photos in the gallery showing the interior restoration.  Fully functional hand-crank windows are present for both the driver and passenger door panels along with foldable quarter windows in front.

Behind the original steering wheel with column-mounted shifter sits the gauge cluster that houses the 85mph speedometer, battery & temperature gauge. The seller notes that the fuel gauge is non-operable. The switches for the climate control are housed to the right of the cluster and both the driver and passenger side vent covers are missing. The seller states that he has the original vent covers but they do not fit in the replacement dash bezels. A dash-mounted CB radio can be seen mounted underneath.

The truck was not running when found by the seller, as part of the reconditioning process, all fluids were drained and the original engine was serviced. Work performed within the last 6 months included service included an oil change, fuel pump, rubber fuel lines, center support bearing for the driveshaft, fuel tank selector valve, carburetor rebuilt and transmission service where a new transmission filter was added. The final six digits on the engine stamping, 207350, corresponding to the vehicle VIN - CCS247Z207350. The seller reports the air conditioning is not currently operable but all components for the system are in place.

Additional photos showing the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

The truck is currently located in Scottsdale, AZ offered for sale with a clean Arizona title in the seller's name.

I have lowered the reserve, don't miss the opportunity to take this super clean classic home, you just don't find them in this clean and original shape anymore.
