This 1956 Porsche 356 replica was built by Vintage Speedsters out of Arizona in 2005 and is titled as a 1967 Volkswagen. The roadster is powered by a rear-mounted 2110cc flat-4 built by Old Speed in Paramount, California, and it is shifted by 4-speed manual transaxle. Modern amenities include Bluetooth connectivity and push-button ignition. The car was previously sold on AutoHunter but is being relisted after the sale fell through, at no fault of the seller. Finished in red with a black retractable soft top over a tan leather interior, this 356 replica shows under 22k kilometers (~13.5k miles), has been with the seller for seven months, and is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
The build, which began with a 1967 Volkswagen chassis, was commissioned under previous ownership and completed by Vintage Speedsters in 2005. The body was professionally sprayed in red and features chrome exterior accents for the bumper trim, door handles, windshield trim, license plate bracket, and taillight surrounds. The front end features metal mesh headlight covers and leather straps securing the trunk, and at the rear, a center-exit performance exhaust system is installed.
Factory 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps are wrapped in tires of unknown age.
The interior is fitted with tan leather bucket seats with matching door panels and dash pad and offset by contrasting black carpeting. Amenities include a push-button ignition system and Bluetooth connectivity with door-mounted speakers.
Instrumentation is framed by a 3-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Porsche center crest and includes a 190-kph speedometer, a 6k tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer shows 21,697 kilometers (~13.5k miles), which are reported to be original to the build.
The rear-mounted 2110cc flat-4 performance engine was built by Old Speed, and power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transaxle.
A video documenting the engine's exhaust note is available for viewing below.
