This 1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata was modified in 2009 with a Monster Miata kit to run a Ford 5.0 High-Output V8 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Originally sold in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, this Miata was relocated to California in 2002 and subsequently to Colorado five years later, where it has resided ever since. Track-focused underpinnings include a set of 16” Enkei wheels, a Wilwood braking system, and an upgraded sway bar. Finished in Mariner Blue over a two-tone black and blue cloth interior, this NA MX-5 Miata is offered on a clear Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The exterior of this NA-generation MX-5 Miata is finished in factory-offered Mariner Blue and is fitted with a contrasting manual soft top. The seller says the car is rust free, but notes an assortment of dings, dents, and scratches which are described as being commensurate with age and mileage.
Enkei 16” multi-spoke black aluminum wheels with polished lips are wrapped in Firestone Firehawk tires and frame front Wilwood brakes.
The interior is fitted with reupholstered two-tone black and blue cloth bucket seats which are divided by a center console. Embroidered floor mats line the footwells and the car’s stock stereo system has been upgraded with a Kenwood head unit. A Shelby-style Boss Frog roll bar is installed behind each seat.
Instrumentation takes the form of a 140-mph speedometer and an 8,000-rpm tachometer, along with surrounding gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. Two auxiliary gauges are mounted on the center console, and the six-digit mechanical odometer reads just over 140k miles which are asserted to be original.
The engine is a rebuilt high-output Ford 5.0 (302ci) V8 sourced from a 1990 Ford Mustang. The engine is reported to have covered approximately 20k miles and is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission. Maintenance performed during the seller's ownership has included replacement of the driveshaft, clutch, alternator, cooling fans, and wiring harness, along with the installation of a trunk-mounted Optima Redtop battery.
Photos capturing the underside are available for viewing in the gallery and show the 2.5" exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers and an H-pipe, along with the front sway bar.
The CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage on record.
