Vehicle Story

This 1992 Ford Mustang LX Summer Edition is finished in Performance Red over white leather interior and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, with 3k original miles. Equipment includes a power-retractable white convertible top, edition-specific decklid spoiler, and color-keyed bodyside molding. The car was initially sold in North Carolina, spent time in Ohio and California, and is now being offered with a CARFAX report and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Vibrant red as part of the Summer Edition package, which also included the white convertible top. Two areas have been touched up according to the seller: the driver side rocker panel and a chip on the front of the hood which was professionally repaired. and also noted on the CARFAX report. The white power top is said to be in good working order and the glass rear window is free of any fading or cracking. Additional exterior equipment includes color-matched dual electric remote mirrors and trunk lid spoiler.

Factory 16” white 5-spoke wheels were part of the Summer Edition package. They are wrapped in Z-rated 225-55-16 Goodyear Eagle tires dated 2008. According to the accompanying Marti Report documentation, the car is equipped with Ford’s 3:08 “Traction Lok” rear axle.

The interior is fitted with black carpeting and white leather seats with black contrast piping. The driver seat is powered and 4-way adjustable. The car is equipped with air conditioning, power windows, and a factory AM/FM cassette radio with graphic equalizer. Available options include the Convenience Group, Power Lock Group, and Light Group.

Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, and a tachometer with a 6,000-rpm redline. The seller indicates that service records are available back to new. The six-digit odometer reads 3,200 miles, about 100 of which have been added by the seller over the past year.

The 5.0-liter 302-ci V8 “High Output” engine was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The car is said to be completely original from a mechanically according to the seller, with exception of the tires, battery, and fluids. The seller indicates that everything works and an oil change has been performed recently.

The 5-speed manual transmission provides power to the rear wheels. Additional photos showing the underside are provided in the gallery.

The sale includes four keys, factory literature, service records, owners manual, audio system demonstration cassette tape, operating guide for the sound system, and a warranty booklet. The CARFAX shows a minor incident in 2003, and dealership service history in Ohio before the car moved to California in 2016. This LX Special Edition passed California emissions in March 2020. There were only 2,193 Summer Special Edition Mustangs produced for the 1992 model year, 1,722 of which came equipped with a manual transmission
