Vehicle Story

This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible was manufactured in Detroit, Michigan and is powered by a 500ci Cadillac V8 paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic 425 3-speed driving the front wheels. Equipment and options listed by the seller include six-way adjustable seats, cruise control, automatic power locks, power-adjustable mirrors, and more detailed below, and the seller details long-term previous ownership and an odometer reading of 25k miles. Finished in Firethorn metallic with a black convertible top over an Antique dark Firethorn leather interior, this 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is offered from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

The seller describes the exterior Firethorn metallic finish as original, and equipment and trim appear unmodified from stock including lighting, brightwork, and badging. Body fillers for the front and rear lights remain intact with consistent gaps and the turn signals are shown to the driver through reflectors on the front fenders. The black convertible top has a glass rear window with defrost and is pictured in place and retracted and stowed beneath a Firethorn tonneau cover. The 1976 Eldorado convertible measures 224" in length and had a factory curb weight of over 5,200 pounds. The seller lists a power antenna and details two previous owners over the past 11 years, the most recent of which kept the car for six years.

Wheels wear black factory-offered covers which include the Cadillac crest and are wrapped in whitewall tires.

The interior is upholstered in Antique dark Firethorn leather with a matching dash, door panels, and carpeting. The footwells are lined with Cadillac-branded carpeted floor mats and the front comfort seats are described as six-way power-adjustable. Other features and amenities include cruise control, automatic climate control with air conditioning, power-adjustable exterior mirrors, an illuminated vanity mirror for the passenger, door guards, automatic power door locks, tinted glass, and a tilting and telescoping steering column. The trunk is lined with a rubber mat and houses a full-size spare tire protected by a carpet cover and the jack.

The three-spoke steering wheel matches the rest of the interior and the sole piece of instrumentation is the 100-mph speedometer. The radio resembles the factory unit and wood trim stretches across the instrument panel and is continued on the doors.

The 500ci Cadillac V8 is fueled by a four-barrel carburetor and had an original output of 190 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 360 pound-feet of torque at 2,000. A Turbo-Hydramatic 425 3-speed automatic transmission translates power the front wheels and original equipment included an 80-amp alternator according to the trim tag. The engine wears Cadillac blue engine paint and equipment within the bay appears largely unmodified, including the air cleaner assembly and intake ducting.

Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
