Vehicle Story

This 2005 Chevrolet SSR is finished in AquaBlur over Ebony interior. The Super Sport Roadster, or SSR, was produced from 2004-2006 with styling inspired by Chevrolet’s late-40’s Advance Design series trucks. Powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, the SSR uses the same LS2 V8 found in the C6 Corvette, among other Chevrolet models of the era. Delivered new by JBA Chevrolet of Glen Burnie, MD, registrations across three owners includes Maryland and Massachusetts. This SSR is now offered with records from the current owner’s tenure, factory manuals, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Massachusetts title in the seller's name.

Finished from the factory in AquaBlur (26U), the seller notes a repaint of the hood due to damage that occurred under prior ownership when a golf bag fell off a shelf in the garage where the vehicle was stored and landed on the hood. In addition, any dents and dings were professionally removed with a paintless dent repair specialist during the current owner’s tenure. The seller does note a dimple on the front fender that is roughly 2 cm in size. Swirl marks and scratches are shown in the gallery on both the paint and the plastic lining of the cargo area. Exterior features include a hardtop retractable roof, integrated running boards, and 4” dual chrome exhaust tips.

Factory 5-spoke 19” and 20” chrome wheels are fitted to 255/45-19 and 315/35-20 tires. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel disc brakes all around.

The interior is trimmed in ebony leather and carpets with body-colored panels on the upper doors, rear bulkhead and center console. Fitted with the Preferred Equipment Group, optional features include heated and memory-linked seats, Electrochromic mirrors, both inside and the outside left rear view, and a BOSE premium stereo with an in-dash 6-disc CD player.

Fitted behind the SRS-equipped steering wheel sits instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer, as well as fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure gauges. The digital odometer shows just under 16k miles, 6K of which were added by the seller in their 2 years of ownership. The steering wheel features controls for the stereo system and cluster information display.

The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 powerplant was new for 2005, replacing the 5.3-liter Vortec engine use in the previous model year. Factory-rated power figures included 390-horsepower and 405-lb ft of torque fitted with a 4-speed 4L65E automatic transmission. The seller does note an oil leak being fixed in Feb 2020 under warranty from GM. Notably, the SSR was built on the GMT368 platform, which is derived from the same platform utilized by The Chevrolet Trailblazer SS, Saab 9-7X, and others. Produced from 2003-2006, just over 24K examples of the SSR were built during its run.

Additional undercarriage and engine photos are shown in the gallery.

The clean August 2020 CARFAX report shows no reported accidents or damage and registrations in Maryland and Massachusetts. Included with the sale is the original window sticker showing an MSRP of $47,790.
