8K-mile 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

This 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z is finished in Gunmetal Metallic over Medium Gray cloth interior and is powered by a 5.7-liter TPI V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car was initially sold in Canada and has remained there throughout its life. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats, A/C, AM/FM cassette stereo, and rear defrost. The seller acquired this Camaro in May 2020. This Camaro IROC-Z has approximately 12k kilometers (8k miles) and is offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clean British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.

This Camaro is finished in Gunmetal Metallic, which was a one year only color and accented with blue and black lower body stripes. From the factory, the IROC-Z received dual hood vents along with a wrap-around decklid spoiler and the "IROC-Z" decal adorning the lower half of both doors

The car is equipped with factory optional 16” wheels finished in Silver Metallic that it was originally ordered with wrapped in the original 245/50-16 Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires. Stopping power is provided by 4 wheel disc brakes. All IROC Z28 Camaros were equipped with an upgraded suspension with specially-valved Delco-Bilstein shock absorbers and lower ride height, larger sway bars, a steering/frame brace.

The interior is fitted with gray carpeting and power-adjustable Medium gray cloth seats with matching piping. Features include  A/C, power windows, cruise control, and a gray carpeted dash cover is fitted for UV protection. Additionally, it was ordered with the optional leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt column. The car retains its original factory upgraded “Extended Range Sound” four-speaker sound system, complete with a cassette player with auto-reverse and adjustable equalizer

Instrumentation is anchored by a 240-km/h speedometer and tachometer with a 5,500 rpm redline. The six-digit odometer shows 12k kilometers (8k miles). The seller indicates a few service records come with the vehicle.

The car was ordered with the more powerful “L98” 5.7-liter V8, which is equipped with Tuned Port Injection (TPI).  The engine was factory-rated at 230 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission putting power to a 3.27:1 rear with Posi-traction.  

The original purchase order shows the original equipment on the car and total price of $11,501. The sale includes the purchase order and assorted literature. All factory options are indicated in the “Service Parts Identification” photo with RPO codes listed.
