Vehicle Story

This 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday hardtop coupe was originally a Texas car until purchased by the seller in 2009 and taken to California where it has remained since. Powered by its factory 324ci V-8 paired with an automatic transmission, Vintage air conditioning has been installed along with a custom stereo, fresh floor covering, new radiator and instrumentation. The car has been serviced regularly and is now offered for sale with a clean California title in the seller's name.

Finished in two-tone white and red with chrome and stainless trim lines as an accent, the car's exterior features a significantly larger grille than prior models and appears to be in excellent condition overall.

Power steering and power brakes are equipped to handle the 122-inch wheelbase along with whitewall tires which are wrapped around red wheels fitted with the original chrome spinner hub caps.

The interior is finished in red upholstery throughout with stainless trimmings and fresh carpeting installed on the floors and trunk by the seller. Air conditioning has been updated to a Vintage system and a custom Pioneer stereo head unit is hidden in the glove box complete with a 12-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk.

Factory instrumentation consists of a 120-MPH speedometer integrated with dials for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure along with an aftermarket steering column-mounted tachometer and 3-gauge cluster mounted under the dash by the seller. The odometer displays 49,490 miles, however, the accuracy of that number is unknown.

The engine bay is home to its original 324ci "Oldsmobile Rocket" V-8 mated to a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission which was recently taken in for professional servicing. The engine is still complete with factory valve covers, 4-barrel carburetor and dressings and rated for 240hp.

@Oldskool – You say all the gauges work, however, you have auxiliary gauges under the dash? ...

Good morning. The gauges under the dash are for oil, volts and water temp. You get an actual reading and not relying on a light to come on the dash. My husband liked the idea to be able to see true readings. It's an added bonus making sure car is running well. Thank you for asking.
