This 2006 Pontiac GTO is a one-owner, dealer-maintained sports coupe powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Originally sold May 16, 2006, from Elk Grove Pontiac to a family member of the seller, this GTO remained in the Sacramento, California area since new and has been consistently maintained by local area dealerships. Equipment includes fog lights, a dual exhaust system, and a limited-slip rear differential. Finished in Torrid Red over a black leather interior, this last-model-year GTO is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller’s name.
Assembled by Holden in Australia, the fifth-generation GTO was sold in the United States beginning in 2003. This example from the last model year, three years later, is painted Torrid Red (62U) and the exterior features dual hood intakes, front fog lamps, a rear wing spoiler, and a polished dual exhaust system. According to the seller, there are some imperfections on the exterior including some dings, scratches, and an inoperative trunk lock.
Aluminum 17” five-spoke wheels are wrapped in newer tires. The struts and shock absorbers have been replaced according to the seller, and the CARFAX states that the brakes were replaced in 2016. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs connected to an anti-lock braking system.
The interior offers power-adjustable, GTO-embroidered black leather seating with matching door panels, dash, center console armrest, and carpeting. The factory audio system has a 6-disc CD changer and a 10-speaker sound stage, and additional amenities include a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, auto-down power windows, billet aluminum pedal covers, and remote keyless entry. A few noteworthy issues are described by the seller: the back seat has some sun damage, the air conditioning condenser is not working, the driver side needs a replacement sun visor, and the lift struts that hold up the trunk and hood are weak.
Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, a 7,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 126k miles, which the seller reports as a true reading.
The LS2 6.0-liter V8 was at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage on record. The vehicle passed a California emissions inspection in April 2020.
