OVERVIEW
This award-winning 1973 Chevrolet Nova Custom coupe has a 383cid stroker V8, a recent TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a 3,500-rpm-stall converter, a Hotchkis suspension, back-dated exterior design features, 18-inch Boss wheels, and an Eaton limited-slip rear end. Within the seller’s four-year garage-kept ownership, it has received restomod customization along with recent work to the fuel system, brakes, and ignition. Finished in Jet Black with metallic silver striping over a refurbished black vinyl interior, this Nova is now offered with build documentation and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The House of Kolor Jet Black paint and metallic silver accent striping was applied over an Arizona-kept body. The front and rear sheet metal and lighting were back-dated to 1970-72 Nova style during the build process. Exterior features include a carbon fiber chin spoiler, a billet grille, a steel Goodmark four-inch cowl-induction hood, chrome bumpers, new headlight bezels, a driver-side mirror, blacked-out window trim, and a diecast rear trim panel. Some exterior panels and windows have stickers that the seller will remove upon request.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Five-spoke Boss 18-inch wheels with polished lips are wrapped in 235/40 front and 245/40 rear Hercules Raptis WR1 tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with black perforated vinyl bucket seats from a 1972 Chevrolet Camaro, a bench in the rear, and matching textures for the door panels, dash, carpeting, and floor mats. Amenities include a fire extinguisher, a leather-wrapped Viilante Tourismo steering wheel, and a Turbo Action Cheetah SCS shifter. The rear window cranks and rear package tray are newer. An air conditioning compressor is installed but the remainder of the system hardware is not present.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes an inoperative 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, a column-mounted 8,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary under-dash gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 80,000 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. According to the seller, there are approximately 9,000 miles on the engine.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 383cid small-block stroker V8 was custom-built by Basko Race Engines in Gilbert, Arizona, and is estimated to produce between 450 and 550 horsepower, according to the seller. Upgrades include a COMP Cams roller camshaft, an Edelbrock intake, a Holley carburetor, an electric fuel pump, aluminum heads, a Champion aluminum radiator, an Optima battery, a serpentine belt system with gear drive, MSD ignition, and a Mr. Gasket Street Scoop. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the fluids, power steering pump, spark plug wires, distributor, and rotor, along with the installation of new stainless steel braided fuel lines, fittings, fuel tank, and electric fan. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Strange Engineering chromoly driveshaft as well as a sub-1,000-mile TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3,500-rpm-stall torque converter, both of which were built by Hughes Performance. The 10-bolt rear end has 3.55:1 gears and an Eaton limited-slip differential. The differential fluid was changed recently under the seller’s ownership.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from Classic Performance Products (CPP) power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with slotted and cross-drilled rotors and new pads and fluid. Chassis features include power steering with a quick-ratio CPP steering box, Competition Engineering subframe connectors, G Force crossmembers, and a Hotchkis TVS pro touring suspension with tubular control arms, drop springs, sway bars, Competition Engineering shock absorbers, and Calvert Racing traction bars.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes build documentation. The seller has posted two videos of the car at idle.

@leeman – "If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask away!" * Does the heat work? * What is it's max highway capable speed. * Does it start reliably in varying temperatures ...
Fires right up despite temperatures. I always let it warm up to 180 degrees before I drive to make sure the oil and everything is properly thinned. It runs like a hot rodders dream sitting between 180-190 degrees. I’ve cruised 20 miles in it and drove about 50-55mph at 3,000 RPM with hills and such. There is also no heater in it. Like I said it’s more of a hot rod vs a luxury car. AC compressor is on the serpentine system so if you wanted AC it would just require a vintage air kit or something.

@leeman – Does it have functioning windshield wipers and other requirements for inspection and street legality? Wondering if it can be used as a daily/weekly driver into town. ...
It does not have functional windshield wipers, I never drove it out in the rain and have had the windshield wipers off to give it a better appearance for car shows. There are covers over where the wipers were to make it look more neat. It has functioning brake lights, head lights, turn signals, and side markers. I took the side marker bulbs out but they work. As far as a daily driver this is more a hot rod and isn’t ideally a daily driver. With its gearing and 3 speed transmission it’s more setup for toying, fun or even pro street to strip racing. It doesn’t have overdrive so highways aren’t the greatest unless you’re driving slower. I have just driven it around town and to local car meets and shows, anywhere further than 20-30 miles I usually trailered it. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask away!

Greetings! I do not have any kits for it. The compressor is already installed on the serpentine belt System but I haven’t bought a vintage air kit for it yet to finish it up. Thanks
