OVERVIEW
This 1963 Ford Thunderbird convertible was cosmetically restored and mechanically overhauled in 2019. It is powered by a rebuilt 390ci V8 paired with a rebuilt Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-retractable top with newer hardware, power brakes and steering, BFGoodrich whitewall tires, a center console, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in Corinthian White with a white soft top over a red vinyl interior, this third-generation Thunderbird is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Indiana title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration completed in 2019, the reportedly rust-free body was fitted with new seals and fasteners and refinished in Corinthian White. The power-retractable white convertible top received new solenoids, switches, and motors. Features include quad headlights, chrome brightwork, dual side mirrors, rear fender skirts, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Red 14-inch steel wheels with spinner hubcaps are wrapped in BFGoodrich whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the restoration process, the interior was outfitted with new red vinyl upholstery and matching carpeting. Amenities include a center console, aluminum trim, Thunderbird-branded rubber floor mats, a rear seat tonneau cover, a push-button radio converted to receive the FM signal, and a lined luggage compartment.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and supplementary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 75,858 miles, which the selling dealer states are an accurate figure.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 390ci V8 is fed by a four-barrel carburetor and was rebuilt fewer than 500 miles ago. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt and resealed Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Driving aids include power steering and power brakes, both of which received new lines during the restoration.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer has provided a video with a start-up, a driving demonstration, and a walkaround of the exterior, interior, and engine bay.

@kevinwaspi – @MCMWorld Thank you so much for the reply sir. This is a beautiful car, and I wish you the best in the outcome of the auction. The new owner of this car will have a very nice example of a 1963 Thurnderbird convertible. ...
Thank you very much
@tbirdguy – Are the motor and transmission original to the car you stated that they were both rebuilt but are they numbers matching and born with the car ...
Since Ford doesn't stamp vin numbers on engines and transmissions,to the best of my knowledge the originals came with the car was rebuilt, they were not replaced.

@kevinwaspi – Perhaps the dealer could tell us if the tanneau cover is an original period correct Sport Roadster piece, or a recent repop. Without really answering another question that was asked, posting the picture of the data plate does confirm that the car is a convertible (76A) and is not a “2 door convertible Sport Roadster” (76B) from the factory. ...
In my honest opinion the tonneau cover is a reproduction, hard to tell, I had to double check my 62 conv that has an original tonneau cover I know for a fact, and it is not as straight and nice as this one on the car. You are right it is not a sports roadster.
