OVERVIEW
This 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe was restored in 2005 and is reportedly one of 1,615 produced for the model year. Power is provided by the reportedly numbers-matching, original 383ci V8 and backed by a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission with the Slap Stik shifter option. Features include power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, a vinyl top, bucket seats, an AM radio, a remote driver-side mirror, and an overhead console. Finished in Bahama Yellow and equipped with a brown vinyl top over a brown leather interior, this Barracuda is available now and comes from the selling dealer with Quebec, Canada documentation.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior was stripped to bare metal and refinished in the original color of Bahama Yellow (code L5) during the restoration in 2005, Features include chrome bumpers, wheel opening and rocker trim, Barracuda Gran Coupe emblems, and the reportedly original brown vinyl top. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch steel Mopar Rallye wheels with gray center caps and stainless trim rings is wrapped in 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The front bucket seats and the matching rear seat are upholstered in brown leather. Features include a factory overhead console, a molded soft headliner, a center console with a locking storage compartment, simulated woodgrain trim, and an automatic shifter with the Slap Stik option. Additional features include manual windows, power steering, power brakes, a day/night rearview mirror, a Chrysler AM radio, and air conditioning. According to the selling dealer, the seats, carpeting, and door panels are original and the dash has a few fine cracks in it.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver in a simulated woodgrain panel. The odometer reads 38,219 miles, which the selling dealer believes to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a reportedly numbers-matching 383ci V8 and backed by a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include an upgraded Holley four-barrel carburetor and an electronic ignition system. A full vehicle inspection was completed and the oil will be changed before the car is delivered to its next owner, according to the selling dealer.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Barracuda was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Power front discs and rear drums bring the car to a stop. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The selling dealer states that the undercarriage has its factory undercoating.
