OVERVIEW
This one-owner 1967 Mercury Cougar is powered by a 289ci V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include bucket seats, a floor-mounted shifter, full-wheel covers, hidden headlights, and sequential rear turn signals. Finished in Cardinal Red over a black vinyl interior, this Cougar is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a car cover and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was reportedly refinished once in the original Cardinal Red. Features include chrome bumpers, hidden headlights, wheel well trim, white pinstriping, fender-mounted antenna, driver-side rearview mirror, and sequential taillights. The selling dealer states that some previous rust repairs are visible underneath the car, which can be seen in the photos in the carousel to the right. A walk-around video is available below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch wheels with full-wheel covers is wrapped in 195/75/R14 whitewall radial tires. The front tires have 2017 date codes and the rear tires are of an unknown age. The selling dealer states that the tires have a large amount of tread left.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seat and rear seat are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual windows, steering, and brakes; AM radio; floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter; and three-spoke steering wheel. The selling dealer states that there are two notable tears in the interior. Additionally, the wipers do not park correctly and the brake lights do not work.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument panel consists of a 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 523 miles, but the true mileage is 100,523 miles.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 289ci V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer states that the short block was replaced in the late 1970s after the original engine failed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Cougar was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
