This 1946 Chevrolet pickup was the recipient of a restoration in 2016 that included a full repaint, an interior overhaul, and replacement of bed planks and hardware. Exterior treatment includes a waterfall-style chrome grille, wide whitewall tires, and scripted tailgate lettering. Power for this AK-Series pickup comes from a numbers-matching 216ci inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Finished in two-tone green and black over a black vinyl interior, this pickup is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
From 1941 through 1947, Chevrolet light-duty trucks rode on General Motors’ A-platform which was shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe passenger car. This example from 1946 was restored in 2016 and repainted two-tone with a green body and light green cab stripe, offset by black fenders and running boards. The exterior is described as being rust-free per the seller, comprised of original steel sheetmetal with exception of the running boards and rear fenders which are fiberglass replacements. This pickup has been garage-kept throughout the seller’s seven years of ownership and displays a two-piece windshield, replacement wood planks and hardware in the cargo area, and good-condition brightwork for the bumpers, headlight rings, grille, and other exterior trim.
Color-matched 15” steel wheels with bright Chevrolet-branded caps are wrapped in wide whitewall tires. An un-mounted spare tire is included with the sale.
Seating is provided by a reupholstered black vinyl bench, with metal portions of the interior being color-matched in green while the flooring is covered in a rubber liner. All of the aforementioned materials received refurbishment as part of the 2016 restoration and are described as being in good condition.
Instrumentation is framed within a chrome-trimmed rectangular bezel and includes a 100-mph speedometer and surrounding gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 90k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller notes that the speedometer and gauges do not work.
The original 216ci inline-six has received regular service, including maintenance in March 2021 which included a transmission fluid change, gasket replacement, and the installation of a new radiator. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission and a floor-mounted shift lever.

@RPP – Hello! The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner. To what degree or specifics, I have no idea. As mentioned earlier, a friend of mine who was my mechanic in NJ and owns a service garage that specializes in classic cars, serviced and went over the engine and all mechanics when I purchased her and did till I moved to Florida 4 years ago. He flushed the fluids and worked on the brakes. It was serviced regularly both in NJ and here in Florida. My mechanic here in Florida also flushed the fluids and changed out the gaskets as there was some moisture on the garage floor that I wanted remedied. As you can see by the photos, the underside is as clean as the exterior and again, zero rust and zero scratches. She has always been garaged and covered while in my ownership. As mentioned, she is a 4 speed double clutch, that I always start in 2nd and the top speed I take her to would be 45mph- which is rare as I normally cruise her at 25-35 mph. To start her, you turn the key with the choke pulled out and press the start button which is on the floor, next to the gas pedal. If you are looking for a fast vehicle, this is not your truck. When I had the truck restored, I had all new rubber gaskets installed on the windshield; wheel wells and bed. The windshield wipers don’t work off a switch, the work off a vacuum system, but operate sporadically when driving- but I have never had it out in inclement weather to use them for their purpose. The windshield is original and opens by the crank on the dashboard. ...

Was purchased in 2014 in its original condition- pic included and was red & cream. Originally spent the majority of its life in Wisconsin on a farm- was informed of that by the previous owner who lived in my NJ town. Restoration was completed in 2015 and was frame off project- the attached pics are from the restoration. Headlights and running lights work- no turn signals as that was not an option in 1946. And again, I have no idea what type of breaks they are as I am not mechanically knowledgeable. Zero rust, scratches or dents. Always garaged with covering and has been in Florida the past 4 years- spent one year with me in NJ where it was also garaged and covered, prior to my move south and was shipped via “Reliable Auto Transport”. I now mainly drive it to car shows/cruise nights and around my neighborhood joy riding. It was more conducive for me in my NJ town as it was a small suburban town with all side roads and no highways. It’s the opposite of where I now live and outside my development it’s all busy main roads.
