Reserve Removed: 1979 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 39,291 coupes produced for the model year and is now available for sale with 91,000 miles displayed on the odometer. Powered by a 350ci small-block V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, the car comes equipped with a heater/defroster, air conditioning which seller notes is not working, and power steering, brakes, windows and locks. Recent work commissioned by the seller include new tires, battery, drivetrain mounts, wheels bearings, fuel pump lighting, steering wheel and interior components. Located in Rockford, Michigan, this Corvette is offered for sale with a clean Michigan title in the seller's name. 

One of 10,465 finished in black, the exterior features removable t-top roof panels as well as functional front and rear spoilers derived from the prior year's Pace Car example. L-82 badging can be observed on the cowl hood, however, it is unknown whether or not the car was originally optioned with the upgraded engine. 

Power steering and power braking systems are equipped and were recently serviced with fresh parts by the seller including new steering arms and front wheel bearings and seals. Factory correct wheels are fitted and come complete with a recently mounted set of Futura GLS Super Sport tires. 

The bucket seat interior is upholstered in white throughout and was recently outfitted with new high-back seats, light gray carpeting, white dash panels and a matching steering wheel. All interior lighting components have been replaced with new units and the interior is equipped with power windows and power locks along with factory air conditioning which is currently disconnected and non-functional. 

A new tachometer has been installed behind the replacement 3-spoke steering wheel next to a 140-mph speedometer and additional instrumentation is located in the center of the dash. Odometer mileage is reported at approximately 91,000 miles, however, originally is unknown at this time. 

Chevrolet offered an L48 or L82 designated 350ci small-block V8 in 1979 which produced 195 or 225 horsepower respectively and either came with an updated exhaust system for an increase in power. This example is shifted automatically by way of Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission and features a number of recently replaced parts including new motor and transmission mounts, transmission seals, fuel pump and battery.
