This 1949 Chevrolet Series 3100 pickup has been built as a rat rod and features modern refreshments and unique styling cues. Power comes from a recently swapped 250ci inline-6 paired with a Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission and enhancements include a fresh exhaust system, custom wheels, relocated battery, new glass, and aftermarket pedals. The truck is located in Dalton, Georgia, and is offered for sale with Georgia registration.
Finished in Army Green, the exterior exhibits ample patina accented by a black 4-slot grille, dual-pane windshield, and white wheels as well as a photography company's insignia on the sides. The seller notes that the photography companys insignia is a sticker that will be removed when sold. All glass pieces have been replaced and the battery has been relocated to the inside of a bed-mounted vintage Pepsi cooler.
Manual steering is equipped and the drum brakes were recently adjusted and updated with a mechanical system from Wilwood. Custom 15-inch wheels are painted white and wrapped in black-walled 225/70 tires.
The interior is outfitted in gray cloth upholstery over bench seating with black diamond plate flooring, black door, and dash panels, and stainless trim hardware. Note there is a tear in the seat upholstery on the driver's side and new Wilwood clutch and brakes pedals on the floor.
Mileage on the chassis is unknown due to a broken odometer and the seller notes that all instrumentation in the factory gauge cluster is non-functional as it has not been wired. An aftermarket 3-gauge cluster has been mounted under the dash with dials for oil pressure, fuel level, and coolant temperature, the seller notes that the gauges do not work.
The engine bay is home a 250ci Chevrolet inline-6 mated to a Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission which was swapped in this month along with a new radiator installed this past May of 2021. The engine is dressed in orange paint with a black valve cover and features a Street Rod Header from 6=8 Clifford Performance, new 2-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition system, and an aftermarket air cleaner.
A new dual exhaust system was recently fitted with side exits located just before the rear tires. Additional photos of the undercarriage and the rest of this 1949 Chevrolet rat rod pickup can be found in the gallery.
