Vehicle Story

This 1965 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Wimbledon white over a tan leather interior. It is powered by its original Ford 390 cubic-inch V8 paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Sold new in Utah, this Thunderbird was recently repainted including door jams, inner fenders, underneath the hood, and trunk. Recent services include transmission fluid flush, oil change, and a coolant flush. This Ford is now offered for sale in Beacon, New York with a clean title in the seller’s name.

This car is finished in the factory paint color Wimbledon white. It recently received a full repaint in factory color that included the door jams, inner fenders, under the hood, and trunk. Available in three different body styles in 1965, this Thunderbird is the Landau which features a white vinyl roof with simulated Landau bars on the C pillars. Forward turn signal indicators are mounted on top of the fenders and the hood features a simulated scoop. The rear taillights double as turn signals as well, with the three bulbs in each light blinking in sequential order.

The wheels are aftermarket and styled after what was equipped on the Shelby Mustangs of the era. The front suspension has been recently serviced and greased with all fluids checked as well.  The rear wheels feature partial side skirts and polished trim runs the length of the sides. The drivers side door is equipped with a side view mirror

The tan interior of this car is original according to the seller. It features air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, and automatic transmission with a column-mounted shifter. The front passenger seat is equipped with the optional adjustable headrest, and seats front and rear retain the original chrome trim pieces. The door panels and headliner are pictured with no visible signs of wear or damage.

Instrumentation includes a 120-MPH horizontal speedometer, oil, and water temperature gauges, and a fuel gauge. The dash is fitted with the original radio and climate controls. The steering wheel is the original Swing-Away wood 2-spoke that allows the driver to move the entire column 10.5" to the right, allowing for easier entry and exit. Showing 69k miles on the odometer, the seller has put just 100 miles on the car during their 4 years of ownership.

The 390ci Ford V8 fitted in this Thunderbird is original to the car and rated at 300hp and 427 ft-lb of torque from the factory. It features a Holley 4-Barrel carburetor that has recently been rebuilt in addition to an oil change and coolant flush. The 3-speed “Cruise-O-Matic” transmission is original to the car as well and has just been recently serviced.
