Vehicle Story

This 1932 Ford two-door sedan draws power from a replacement 6,000-mile 5.0-liter V8 sourced from a Ford Mustang, which is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. A custom build was carried out that included a resprayed exterior finish, new upholstery, and the addition of creature comforts such as air conditioning, power windows, and full instrumentation. Finished in black over a reupholstered two-tone tan leather interior, this sedan is now offered with a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The 1932 Ford debuted on an all-new platform for the brand, riding on a longer wheelbase with an outward-curved, double-dropped chassis when compared to its predecessor. This sedan has an all-steel body and was resprayed in black, with chrome bumpers, headlight surrounds, windshield trim, door handles, and more. The running boards are wrapped in a rubber material and a stainless-steel exhaust system is installed.

Red-finished steel wheels wear Ford-branded chrome hubcaps. The steering system is rack and pinion and the front end is from a Ford Mustang II.

The interior offers reupholstered two-tone tan leather bucket seating up front and a bench in the rear, with matching materials for the door panels and carpeting. The metal dash is finished in beige and features a centrally-mounted aluminum bezel for the instruments, as well as an aftermarket four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Amenities include air conditioning and power windows.

Aftermarket instruments include a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The cluster holds a replacement digital odometer, though true chassis mileage is unknown.

The replacement 5.0-liter V8 was sourced from a Ford Mustang and is reported to have run approximately 6,000 miles. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shift lever.
