This 1965 Chevrolet Canadian Corvette is finished in Glenn Green (GG code) over saddle interior with 49k original miles on the odometer. This car is powered by a L76 327 V8 engine and paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual gearbox driving a posi-trac differential with 4:11 gears. The car was originally built in St. Louis, MO and sold new in Nova Scotia, Canada. Professionally restored by the current (third) owner, seller states no panels ever replaced or damaged. This C2 is complete with the original alternator, radiator, delco AM/FM radio, power antenna, stainless streel trim and a posi-trac differential and being sold with clear Canadian title in the seller’s name, along with GM documentation.
This Corvette coupe retains it’s factory original paint color, Glenn Green (GG) when it was fully restored in 2014 with a frame-off restoration. Additional photos showing the restoration are included in the photo gallery. Seller notes all body mounts have been changed, new brakes and rotors installed, heater core, parking brake cables, clutch, flywheel, and parking light gaskets were replaced. Exterior features include split chrome bumpers and pop up headlamps.
This Corvette will be sold with the stock polished 6-spoke wheels which are original to the car and wrapped in white line tires. As previously noted, the brake pads and rotors have been changed, along with the calipers and parking brake cable. The seller states the Torque Thrust style wheels with redline tires will not be included in the sale.
The interior retains its factory saddle color featuring vinyl bucket seats with tan carpeting. A polished trim plate surrounds the shifter and ashtray in the center console while knobs for temperature, air, tone, and tuning can be seen just above the AM radio, which is noted to be operational by the seller.
All instrumentation is visible inside the original 3-spoke steering wheel, complete with Corvette checkered flag horn button. The ancillary gauges include fuel, battery, oil, and water temperatures while the 160mph speedometer and 6500 redline tachometer are located in the center. The 5 digit odometer reads just over 49k miles which the seller states are original miles.
The L76 327ci V8 engine was rated at 365hp at 3,200 RPM from the factory and utilizes a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission with a posi-traction rear differential. Per the seller, the engine is original to the car and has an 11:1 compression with a solid lifter camshaft. The engine bay retains many of the factory-correct components including valve covers, air cleaner, hoses, and various hardware. The seller noted a new fuel line has been recently installed and the engine compartment seal was replaced.
During the restoration, the body was separated from the chassis and the suspension received new spring mounts, trailing arm shims, rear differential bushing kit, and new rear springs. A 2.5" factory through the exhaust can be seen with factory mufflers. Additional photos of the chassis are provided in the gallery below.
The vehicle was originally delivered to Teasdale & Foot GM Dealship in Darmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1965. The sale includes the clean Ontario registration in the sellers name along with factory literature and service records.
AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 10/8/20 1:50PM PST: Photos of the the VIN and engine block numbers have been added to the end of the gallery. The date of restoration has been corrected to 2014 as well.
