Vehicle Story

This 1962 Ford F-250 regular cab 4x4 pickup was restored by a specialty hot rod facility in Louisiana and treated to a replacement Cobra Jet dual-quad 428ci V8 bolted to a C6 3-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. This pickup rides on a lifted suspension and a set of newer Super Swamper mud-terrain tires and features a Ramsey winch, full gauges, dual exhaust, and more. Finished in two-tone light blue and medium blue over a reupholstered white and plaid interior, this fourth-generation F-250 is now offered with a clear California title in the owner’s name.

For model year 1961, the Ford F-Series full-size pickups received a redesigned appearance that was both longer and lower than its predecessor. This F-250 from the subsequent year features a longbed body design that was repainted and restored by Toulouse Street Rods, LLC, a custom classic car builder in Franklinton, Louisiana. The grille and front and rear bumpers are painted white, and a Ramsey winch has been integrated into the front end. Additional exterior features include cab lights, a sliding rear window, chrome-finished sideview mirrors and badging, a tow receiver, and polished exhaust outlets at each rear corner. The bed floor is covered by a Protecta rubber mat.

White-finished steel wheels are wrapped in Super Swamper TSL tires with good tread remaining. The suspension has been lifted from stock and manual locking hubs can be found up front.

The interior is fitted with a reupholstered white and blue plaid bench seat and matching door panels, contrasted by replacement black carpeting and Ford-branded rubber floor mats. The dash is color-matched in light blue and features a textured white panel for the instrument surround. Amenities include a floor-mounted Lokar shift lever and a Professional Mariner under-dash battery charger.

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, an Autometer aftermarket 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 65k miles, though true mileage is unknown.

The replacement 428ci Cobra Jet V8 is fitted with dual quads and cooling is improved by way of a PRC aluminum radiator. Power is sent to all four wheels via a C6 3-speed automatic transmission with a 2-speed transfer case.
