This 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is finished in black over a black leather interior with a power-folding, black cloth retractable top. It is powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car was first sold in North Carolina and spent time in South Carolina and Florida until 2019 when it was moved to Pennsylvania. Equipment includes the Preferred Equipment Group, SS Performance Package, remote 12-disc CD changer, and Hurst short-throw shifter. This Camaro is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in the factory Onyx Black. The rear window of the convertible top is glass and is equipped with a defogger. The car is equipped with fog lamps, power mirrors, and body side moldings. A forced air induction hood, SS specific rear spoiler, and dual exhaust system comprise the exterior.
The car originally came with chrome-plated 10-spoke wheels but is currently equipped with 17" machine faced 35th Anniversary edition wheels from a 2002 Z/28 Anniversary Edition Camaro fitted to Continental Extreme Contact 275-40-17 performance tires on all four corners. The car is equipped with power four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking.
The interior is fitted with black carpeting with SS-branded floor mats and matching Ebony leather bucket seats both front and rear. Factory equipment includes a Hurst short-throw shifter, factory in-dash CD player along with remote 12-disc changer, and steering wheel audio controls.
Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer, along with fuel and temperature gauges. The car is equipped with a Monsoon 500-watt AM/FM stereo with CD, 8 speakers, and amplifier. The driver seat is six-way powered and the rear seat is folding. There are power windows and door locks, cruise control, intermittent wipers, and soft-ray tinted glass. The digital odometer reads 18k miles, of which a handful have been added by the selling dealer over about two months’ time.
The 5.7-liter “LS1” V8 was rated at 345 horsepower 340 lb-ft of torque and paired with a T56 6-speed which are both original to the car. The car was ordered with additional SLP content, RPO code Y2Y, which included a performance Cat-back Exhaust and Blackwing Air Intake, although the exhaust system was replaced with a Magnaflow. The car passed a Pennsylvania emissions inspection in August 2019.
Additional photos showing the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
The window sticker shows the original equipment and a total price of $35,995. There is supplementary paperwork illustrating $1,998 in add-ons including the dual-exhaust performance package and the 10-spoke chrome-plated wheels. The sale includes the window sticker, an owner’s manual, the CARFAX report, and literature on the vehicle. The CARFAX report indicates no accidents or damage.

I just realized that the YouTube video can be viewed by clicking the big red PLAY button in the scrolling image list under the main image in the upper left hand corner of the auction listing.
I don’t know if Auto Hunter will indicate when the reserve is met... but I doubt it. The site is new to all of us. I can tell you that bidding has not met my reserve yet.
I assume you have a minimum your looking at for the car and I am not sure how things work on this site. Will the website alert us if it has been met? I have noticed some sites do that. Can you say what you have in mind?? I am looking at several cars and simply do not want to end up buying all of them. If you can’t that’s fine also. Thank you
You can find walk-around / cold start video of the car on my YouTube channel. Below is the link. If AutoHunter doesn't display as a live link, you can just paste it in your browser. https://youtu.be/XLOnA_dnXeM
Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my auction on the new AutoHunter platform. I purchased this car directly from a local collector who had four low mileage 4th gen Camaro convertibles, and he was downsizing his collection. It's an investment quality car and very rare being 1 of only 227 Triple Black 6 speed convertibles produced in 2002. I will check in frequently to answer any questions. Bid with confidence... it's a no-excuse car. Troy
