This 1932 Chevrolet Confederate is a 2-door, 2-passenger Sports Roadster Deluxe Model powered by an inline 6 cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. After its delivery from the factory to a dealer in Moorestown, New Jersey, the car spent the rest of its life in New Jersey. It spent years as a display model in a Chevy dealer's showroom in Moorestown and has been used in parades. Equipment includes a 2 passenger rumble seat in the back, dual front horns, and dual-side-mounted spare tires. This Chevy's odometer shows 115K miles and features a clear title in the seller's name.
The Chevy features a 2 door, 5 window body. The rear is equipped with a 2 passenger rumble seat, and a rear storage box holding original luggage. On the front, the Chevy has some chrome trim, including the headlight bezels, bumper, and hood side slats. This example also has the Town and Country horns option, which supplied dual front horns. The body has been painted in a cream color with a brown roof and cream accents lining the window frames on the doors. The fenders, running boards, and bumper supports behind the front bumpers are painted black.
Chevrolet made some changes to their lineup for 1932. Unlike the 1931 models, the 1932 Chevrolet Deluxe models such as this Confederate were equipped with larger chrome louvers in the hood sides. The Chevy rides on orange wire wheels wrapped in 18" whitewall tires. On both sides, it features spare tires with side view chrome mirrors mounted on them.
The interior features a multi-colored layout with a bench seat. The seat and door panels are tan while the dashboard is brown. The 3 spoke steering wheel , steering column, and black mat over the floor are all finished in black. Drivers can operate the manual transmission using the floor mounted shifter. In the rear of the cabin are rollup blinds installed above the rear window.
Four gauges are featured over the dashboard, and an analog clock is mounted on the passenger side. The electrical system is composed of a 6 V negative ground.
The inline six cylinder engine is known as the Stovebolt Six, and it is paired with a 3 speed synchromesh manual transmission. The transmission offers Wizard Control, which enables the car to coast when the accelerator pedal is lifted. The seller states that the car has been modified and serviced. The engine has been upgraded with a downdraft carburetor and a higher compression ratio to generate it's current performance of 60 horsepower and 45 kW. In addition, it received a tune up, fuel system inspection, and fuel system cleaning in June of 2021.
The seller states that the fuel tank was replaced with a period-correct tank.
The seller will include some service records with the sale.
