This 1951 Hudson Hornet is a 4 door sedan powered by a 308ci straight-six paired to a 4-speed transmission. The car received a full restoration approximately 17 years ago, while recent work consists of a tune-up, oil change, and new brakes in June of 2021. Equipment includes the two carburetors of the Twin H-Power package, LED lights on the undercarriage, and an electric clock. The Hornet has 105K miles, 9K of which were put on by the seller. This Hudson is now offered for sale currently located in New Jersey with clear title in the sellers name.
The exterior has been repainted in blue with painted white flames on the hood, front fenders, and front doors. Exterior features include upper and lower side trim, rear-wheel skirts and A-pillar mounted spotlights.
Moon-style full-wheel disc covers are fitted on steel wheels, surrounded by BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. The seller reports that new brakes were installed in June of 2021.
The interior features two-tone white and blue upholstery on the seats and door panels. Chrome accents are found throughout the dash and for the door hardware, as well as the column-mounted shifter with a blue die-shaped shift knob.
The Hornet retains the factory 6-volt electrical system for the engine along with an auxiliary 12-volt system that powers LED lights located on the undercarriage, and an electric clock. While it is equipped with the original radio, the seller states that the 12-volt system also powers a modern radio linked to a subwoofer in the trunk.
The 308 cubic inch straight-six features Hudson's Twin H-Power setup, which consists of dual one-barrel carburetors, factory rated at 160 horsepower and 260 ib-ft of torque when new. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 3-speed manual transmission.
The seller states that the car is equipped with an aftermarket exhaust. Additional photos showing the undercarriage are provided in the gallery below.
