This 1966 Ford Mustang coupe has resided long-term in California, displaying a repainted Wimbledon White exterior finish and equipment that includes fog lamps, dual exhausts, and good-condition brightwork. Under the hood resides a recently-serviced 289ci V8 that sends power to the rear end through a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. This Mustang has been owned by the seller for 10 years and describes it as a mechanically sorted example that is clean and original throughout. Finished with a blue vinyl interior and a custom center console, this Mustang is now offered with service records, the original black and yellow California license plates, an uninstalled vintage-look radio, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The Mustang pony car first launched in 1964 distinguished by long hood, short deck proportions and sharing a platform with the compact Ford Falcon. This example from 1966 has reportedly resided long-term in California, retaining its original black license plates and a rust-free body. A newer paint finish was applied in the original Wimbledon White (M) color, and bright work is said to be in good condition. Exterior equipment includes fog lights and exhaust outlets.
Factory 15” five-spoke mag wheels with Mustang-branded center caps are mounted to BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
The interior is trimmed in Blue (22) vinyl fold-forward bucket seats, color-matched to the door panels, dash, carpeting, and Mustang-embroidered floor mats. A custom center console and armrest were added between the front seats, and additional features include a push-button radio, a three-spoke steering wheel, and embossed seatbacks. The trunk is lined in a vinyl mat and contains a spare tire.
Instrumentation is provided by a 140-mph speedometer, accompanied by gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 69k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rebuilt 289ci V8 is said to run well with no known mechanical issues, and service has been performed within the last year. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shift lever.
The sale includes service records and an uninstalled vintage-look radio.
