This 1983 Lincoln Town Car is a four-door luxury sedan that delivers conveniences such as woodgrain trim, air conditioning, a power antenna, and seating for six. Power comes from a mechanically-sorted 5.0-liter Windsor V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, and this Town Car received an oil change, a transmission service, and an air conditioning system service within the last year. Finished in Medium Charcoal Metallic over a gray cloth interior, this first-generation Town Car is now offered with a CARFAX report, owner’s booklets, documentation, and a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The Town Car full-size luxury sedan first debuted as a standalone model in 1981 on the Ford Panther platform, after the Town Car name had been previously used to designate a trim line of the Lincoln Continental. The new platform introduced a reduced overall size, a better turning radius, and lower weight than prior Lincoln full-size sedans. This example from 1983 is painted Gray Metallic and offset by a black half-vinyl roof, with the overall exterior is described as having rust-free, garage-kept finishes. Brightwork is represented for the grille, bumpers, side moldings, door handles, and more.
Steel 15” wheels with wire covers and Lincoln center caps are wrapped in 205/75-series Nexen whitewall tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes, with discs up front.
The interior offers seating for six, with a split-bench up front and a full bench in the rear. The power-operated gray cloth upholstery is color-matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Woodgrain trim is featured throughout the cabin, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks, power windows, a power antenna, auto-dimming headlights, and a factory AM/FM/cassette radio. The trunk is fully carpeted and contains a spare tire inside a cover.
Instrumentation is provided by an 85-mph speedometer, an analog clock, a coolant temperature gauge, and a fuel gauge, with warning lights for other vehicle systems. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 54k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The fuel-injected 5.0-liter Windsor V8 received a recent oil and filter change, a transmission and rear end service, and an R134A air conditioning conversion. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The CARFAX report shows an accident on record. The seller asserts the car has never incurred any such damage, and an open case with CARFAX is working to resolve the discrepancy. The sale includes owner’s booklets.

I will photograph the tires today and post them. They are very good. All the accessories work and all the gauges work. All the lights work. Thanks Roger
Very nice car! Anything that does not work? How are the tires? Thanks
Im Roger, the owner. I want everyone to know that the CARFAX report showing an accident on this vehicle is completely bogus. The car only has 54,006 miles now and the CARFAX claimed an accident occurred at 55,623. The car has never been in any accident ever.
