No Reserve Original Owner 1987 Porsche 924S 5-Speed

This no reserve, original owner 1987 Porsche 924S is finished in Black over a black leather interior with cloth inserts and is powered by a 2-5-liter inline-four paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.  The seller purchased the car new in April of 1987 in Kansas where it has remained. Equipment includes fog lamps, phone dial wheels, and a power-tilting removable sunroof panel. This 924S is now offered at no reserve with a CARFAX report and a clean Kansas title in the original owner’s name.

The car retains its factory black finish, while mostly original paint, the seller states a small portion of the body was resprayed after an April 2000 incident involving the front right corner of the vehicle, as noted in the CARFAX report.  The car retains its original rubber padded impact bumpers and pop-up headlights. The wrap-around glass for the rear hatch is in good condition with no signs of excessive wear and the roof features a factory sunroof.

Factory 15” 'phone dial' wheels are wrapped 195/65-15 Yokohama Avid H4S tires on all four corners. Original equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and front and rear stabilizer bars.

The interior features black leather bucket seats with "PORSCHE" script cloth inserts. The black carpet features OEM floormats with the "PORSCHE" logo embroidered. The shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission is housed in the center console surrounded by a black leather shift boot, located beneath the radio and climate controls. The car is equipped with air conditioning and power windows, the seller states the clock and aftermarket radio are inoperable.

Instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer along with a 6,400-rpm redline tachometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge. The 3-spoke steering wheel features a padded center section with a Porsche Crest over the horn button. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, however, the seller states the true mileage is 130k.

The engine is the original 2.5-liter M44 four-cylinder that was factory rated at 150 hp and 142 lb-ft and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Recent service work includes a new battery installed in November 2019 followed by the replacement of the timing belt, water pump, balance shaft belt, drive belts, and thermostat in August 2020.

The CARFAX report reflects an incident to the front right area of the vehicle in April 2000, which was repaired.  Seller states a hairline crack in the painted area can be seen.  The sale includes most service records from new, the factory radio, and miscellaneous documents.
