This 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am shows 50,000 miles and has spent the last 10 years as part of the second owner's private collection, during which time only 250 miles have been added. The car remains in stock form with power coming from the original 5.0-liter V8 and put to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual. Factory features include T-tops, a vented hood, integrated fog lights, grid-style taillights, a rear wing, two-tone cloth seats, and more. Finished in its original blue and silver paint, this third-generation Firebird Trans Am is offered with a clean CARFAX report and clear California title in the seller's name.
As part of the Firebird's comprehensive update for the 1985 model year, this Trans Am wears a restyled front end with fog lights in its lower front fascia, exposed inboard amber turn signals, and pop-up headlights. The hood features two vents at the front, a large Firebird graphic in the middle, and heat extraction vents on the sides. Trans Am and Firebird graphics are located in various spots around the two-tone blue and silver body, including the front bumper, front fenders, B-pillars, and between the taillights. The roof features a pair of tinted T-tops
A set of 15-inch wheels with black center caps are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. A factory body-color spoiler is fitted to the rear hatch.
The interior received an update in 1985 as well, and this example features the then new instrument panel, center console, and three-spoke steering wheel. The cabin is trimmed in two-tone gray and charcoal cloth seats, a gray and black dashboard, crank windows, and a cargo area behind the rear seats covered by a glass hatch on twin struts.
Instrumentation includes an 80-mph speedometer, tachometer, voltmeter, and gauges for the oil pressure, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The center stack features controls for the climate system and a Sanyo radio and tape player with volume and tuning knobs. Operation of the 5-speed manual gearbox is managed by console-mounted shift lever, and the odometer shows 50,205 original miles.
The 305ci V8 is reported to be original to the car and it benefits from a new battery. Power is put to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual.
Additional photos showing other aspects of the vehicle are available in the carousel.
The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage, with the last entry dating back to 2010 when it was purchased and added to the owner's collection.
