Vehicle Story

This 1982 Chevrolet K10 4x4 pickup was the recent recipient of a comprehensive frame-up restoration and has been driven approximately 1,700 miles since. Power is sent to all four wheels by way of a 383ci V8 swap from Chevrolet Performance paired with a rebuilt automatic transmission and equipment includes a 1979 front grille and headlights, custom dual exhaust system, dual gas tanks, electronic dash, air conditioning, and a custom stereo system. Located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, the seller offers all receipts and photos from the restoration process and the original build sheet and window sticker along with a clean Pennsylvania title with the sale.

Third-generation square body Chevrolet styling was updated with a simplified front end involving a refreshed hood and grille design which continued through 1991, however, during the restoration front, end components from a 1979 model were installed including the grille and headlights for esthetic purposes. This example was originally finished in blue but has since been resprayed with a two-tone Carmine Red over White color scheme accented by chrome bumpers and trim pieces along with chrome dual exhaust tips which exit under either side of the rear quarters.

Power steering and 4-wheel power drum brakes are equipped to handle a set of 31x10.5-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's over factory-correct chrome 15-inch wheels. The truck sits at stock ride height on leaf-sprung solid axles present front and rear with Bilstein shocks installed on all four corners.

The interior is finished in red throughout featuring red cloth upholstery over bench seating with matching red carpeting and stainless accented dash and door panels. Windows are manually cranked and Vintage air conditioning has been installed utilizing dash-mounted controls along with a hidden custom stereo system to keep the factory appearance.

The aftermarket Bowtie branded 3-spoke steering wheel frames the instrumentation which is housed in a custom aftermarket electronic dash panel complete with a 120-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer with built-in digital readouts. Additional dials for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage are grouped to the side and the odometer is reported to show roughly 1,700 miles driven since the completion of the restoration.

The engine bay is home to an HT383ci V8 sourced from Chevrolet Performance which touts a 323 hp and 444 lb.-ft. of torque out of the crate. Shifting is done automatically by a rebuilt transmission and the engine is dressed with chrome center-bolt valve covers with a matching air cleaner and accessory components. The truck is also equipped with dual gas tanks. The engine was last serviced 6 months ago with fresh oil and a new filter.

Additional photos of the underside have been made viewable in the gallery.

AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 8/16/21 1:25PM: The description has been updated to reflect the truck is equipped with a 1979 model year grille and headlights

@Stew4706 – Any chance you can post some of the in process restoration pictures? ...

I will see what I can find. I did not document the process to any great degree.
