Vehicle Story

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is described as a turn-key, restored example that received a replacement 327ci V8 backed by a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission. Upgrades to the drivetrain include an Edelbrock camshaft and a Holley carburetor, and recent service history has been comprehensive, with maintenance to the fuel system, cooling system, ignition system, and other areas within the last two years. Features include a push-button radio, carpeted floor mats, and newer American Classic whitewall tires. Finished in a Riverside Red repaint with a white retractable top over a reupholstered black vinyl interior, this C2 Corvette is now offered with a clear Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

The second-generation Corvette two-door adopted a shorter wheelbase than its predecessor with revised weight distribution and all-new styling when it debuted in 1963. This Corvette from that initial year was the recipient of a restoration within the last five years and is resprayed in Riverside Red (923A). The refurbishment emphasized attention to detail, panel fitment, and gloss, with the white retractable top also being replaced at the time of restoration. Brightwork for the front and split-rear bumpers, rocker moldings, windshield surround, and other trim is in noted to be in good condition. The exterior features pop-up headlamps, front fender vents, quad taillights, and dual polished exhausts at the rear. The seller has provided close-up photos of very small blemishes around the perimeter.

Steel 15” wheels with Corvette-branded polished covers and knock-off caps are wrapped in newer American Classic whitewall tires. Underpinnings are comprised of an independent rear suspension, and braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

The cockpit exudes a twin-cowl motif, offering reupholstered black fold-forward vinyl bucket seats and matching lap belts, center console, door panels, dash, and carpeting. Aluminum trim elements accent the cabin including door sill kick plates and brightwork on the console, and a vertically orientated five-button radio is installed in the center stack. Features include Corvette-branded carpeted floor mats, a three-spoke steering wheel with Corvette center logo, a Hurst shift knob, and a carpeted rear cargo area.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer reads 37k miles but is inoperative, thus true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The replacement 327ci V8 was factory-rated at 350 horsepower when new and has a chrome-finished air cleaner. The powertrain has been driven fewer than 1,000 miles since installation according to the seller and features an Edelbrock camshaft as well as a Holley carburetor. Within the past two years, service history has been comprehensive: Replacement parts included a temperature sensor, water pump, fuel pump, U-joints, transmission shift seal, oil pressure tube, heater hoses, expansion tank, lifters, ignition switch, fuel line hose, and more. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission.

Aluminum finned valve covers were only on 327/340SHP motors. This is a low HP 327. correct tack for a low HP 327, wrong air-cleaner, distributor on wrong side of intake manifold . The last 2 letters of the block stamping would tell you the engine type.
