This 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 is #257 of 500 imported to the United States during the latter half of the model year and it has undergone a body-off restoration under current ownership. The restoration included rust remediation, a complete repaint, a refurbished interior, and mechanical and suspension refreshment. Power comes from a 3.9-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 2-speed transfer case with a center locking differential. New items include the engine harness, a rear cross-member extension, windshield, auxiliary lighting, Sawtooth wheels, General tires, and interior trim. This NAS D90 is offered with a full safari rack, Warn winch, a clean CARFAX report, and a Connecticut registration in the seller's name.
The body-off restoration consisted of some rust repair and a respray of all body panels in Alpine White aside from the top which was repainted black. New items include LED auxiliary lighting and a rear cross-member extension, while the existing factory roll cage with rack and rear ladder and the swing-away spare tire carrier were refreshed during the restoration. The Warn 9,500-lb. winch remains.
New black Sawtooth wheels are wrapped in fresh General Grabber AT tires. Records from 2021 document the installation of new hardware, hood gaskets, windshield, and rock sliders, while those from 2020 reveal the replacement of a front door window channel.
Custom black upholstery covers the new front buckets and side-facing jump seats, and a custom gray headliner is fitted. Amenities consist of a new locking center console and dash center, as well as air conditioning, a clock, and a rear defroster.
Instrumentation from left to right includes a 6k tachometer, gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and a 120-mph speedometer. The odometer shows approximately 108K miles, though true mileage in unknown.
The stock 3.9-liter V8 was factory rated at 182 horsepower and 232 il-ft of torque, and it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 2-speed transfer case with center locking differential. Maintenance records document the addition of an engine harness, oil cooler adapter, camshaft distributor gear, and engine block gasket in 2020.
Additional photos showing the condition of the underside are available in the carousel.

Could you provide some detail on the rust remediation noted during the rehab? For example the rear body capping in pic 158 and hinge mounts / door in pic 36. It also looks like there was/are holes in the chassis in pictures 143 and 155 (drivers side).
BID: $47,300
Can you please advise if the under hood smog sticker states "California Air Resources Board" (CARB) compliant as of date of manufacture? Or something about 50 state smog legal, etc.? I can bring the car to CA if it has a sticker despite the engine work, etc. Without a sticker, and being a post 1975 car, can't register in CA Thank you S
