This 1982 Datsun 280ZX is finished in Orange Mist Metallic over a tan cloth interior and is powered by a 2.8-Liter inline 6-cylinder paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car was purchased from the original owner approximately 12 years ago, where it was relocated to Pennsylvania where it has remained since. Equipment includes removable T-top roof panels and AM/FM/cassette radio. This Series II 280ZX has been driven 18k miles since new and is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and on a clear Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Orange Mist Metallic, the car retains its original paint with gold accent pinstriping featured on the raised section of the hood and along the sides. Updates to the 280ZX for the 1982 model year include revised hood ducting, new taillights, and body-colored bumpers with rubber trim. Additional features include removable T-top roof panels, protective side moldings and rear window wiper. The accompanying clean CARFAX does not indicate any accidents or damage history.
Factory 14” six-spoke wheels are wrapped in brand new Goodyear Eagle GT tires sized 195/70 all around. 1982 models received power-steering as standard with a new rack-and-pinion design, and stopping is provided by four-wheel discs brake with power assist.
The interior features manually-adjustable tan cloth seats with matching door panels, and carpeting. The brown dash shows no signs of cracking or warpage and the matching center console houses the shift lever for the 5-speed manual transmission. While the factory radio works, the seller notes the cassette player is currently non-operable and the original headliner is starting to sag.
Instrumentation is anchored by an 85-mph speedometer and a 7k rpm tachometer along with fuel and water temperature gauges. Additional gauges include center-mounted oil pressure and voltage units, as well as a quartz clock. The six-digit odometer shows 18k miles, 4k of which was been added by the seller in 12 years of ownership.
The L28E 2.8-Liter inline-6 cylinder engine is equipped with fuel-injected and factory-rated at 145hp and 156lb-ft of torque. Recent service work includes an oil and filter change as well as new spark plugs and reconditioning the gas tank. Additionally, the injectors have been replaced for the Bosch L-Jetronic electronic fuel injection, along with a new distributor and fuel pump.
The factory exhaust system features a recently replaced muffler. Additional photos are viewable in the gallery
