Vehicle Story

This 1973 Ford Bronco was a mostly restored driver when purchased by the seller three years ago, and finishing touches have since been added to complete the build. Power is sent to all four wheels by the original 302ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission and equipment includes power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, hard and soft tops with doors, a hitch receiver, a front bumper-mounted winch, and more. Located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, this first-generation Bronco is offered with a new soft top, restoration documentation, and a clear Arkansas title in the seller's name.

All black components on the vehicle feature a recently applied powder coating in contrast to the other red exterior finished. Features include a front bumper-mounted winch with remote, six-point roll bar with three-point retractable seat belts, removable doors, hardtop, new in box soft top, a hitch receiver fitted with fresh wiring, new wiper blades, chrome dual exhaust tips, and a matching spare wheel and tire mounted on the rear rack along with an auxiliary gas can. The seller reports that the blackout hood is a removable 3M matte vinyl wrap and notes that there are a few blemishes in the paint.

Power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes have been fitted with the inclusion of a new master cylinder, Tom's Offroad proportioning valve, calipers, brake lines, and hoses. 2.5 inches of suspension lift was installed under prior ownership to fit a set of 33x12.5-inch Nexen Roadian Pro RA8's over 15-inch Ultra Mongoose wheels with Warn manually locking hubs.

The interior is outfitted with all new seating featuring gray front bucket seats from Tom's Offroad with a matching new-in-the-box rear bench that will be included in the sale. Additional interior refinements include a 6-point roll cage, new door handles and locks with a matching ignition key, fresh hardtop weather stripping and headliner, new wiring, insulated flooring underneath new carpeting, 3-point safety belts, a locking center console and glove box, and a new floor-mounted transfer case shifter.

The flat gray dash panel comes fitted with a factory 100-mph speedometer, additional dials, and a 300-watt power inverter equipped with 110-volt plugs and USB ports. In addition, there are hood-mounted gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. Approximately 90,000 miles are reported to show on the 5-digit odometer with unknown accuracy.

Power comes from a 302ci small-block Ford V8 paired with the original C-4 automatic transmission which was rebuilt professionally by AAMCO along with the Dana-20 transfer case. The engine comes dressed with a 140-amp alternator and black Ford Racing valve covers and air cleaner over an Edelbrock intake manifold and electric choke equipped 650cfm Edelbrock carburetor which is fed by a newer electric fuel pump. Recent refreshments under the hood include a new water pump, fan shroud, Tom's Offroad oil pan with a one-piece gasket and chrome dipstick, aluminum radiator, thermostat, and coolant hoses.

Black POR-15 rust preventative coating was applied to the entire underside and frame after a media blasting and both driveshafts were recently serviced along with the transmission mounts and a fluid change for the original FoMoCo 9" rear axle. A custom Flowmaster 2.25-inch dual exhaust system was fitted by the seller whereas the suspension was overhauled under prior ownership with a 2.5-inch lift kit and Skyjacker shocks.

Documentation of work done by the prior owner and the seller will be included in the sale and videos are available below for viewing.

@Davidobx – Can you tell me about the blemishes in the paint and are there any rust bubbles comjng from the body? How is the frame of the bronco? Thank you ...

This is a rust-free Bronco, there are no rust bubbles. The paint is single stage, so it does not have the over-the-top clear coat shine to it. The blemishes are slight....there is a small dent in the driver side fender top, visible in picture 5 about midway between the grill and cowl. I drove this Bronco often, fishing and cruising, so it has the minor wear that one would expect on a classic that is driven regularly. A color sand and buff would remedy most if not all blemishes, followed by a clear coat if so desired. The previous owner removed and installed the top for the seasons, so the factory holes in the back corners have some minor scars that have been touched up. The nearly rust-free undercarriage and floor were media blasted bare and then treated to POR-15 black paint.
