This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is accompanied by checklists of over 30 maintenance items addressed in a fall 2017 comprehensive service, deriving power from a replacement 350ci V8 with an MSD ignition system, sending power to the rear via a 4-speed manual transmission. Finishes are described as good throughout, offering color-matched removable T-tops, rally wheels, and dual exhaust exits at the rear. The seller has owned the vehicle for four years and is including a variety of spare replacement parts. Finished in Mille Miglia Red over a Dark Saddle vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered with the aforementioned parts and a clear Texas title in the seller’s name.
The C3 Corvette first launched in 1968 in coupe and convertible form, with the coupe featuring a notchback rear with a near-vertical rear window, removable roof panels, and functional cooling vents in the front fenders. By 1973, the car had been transformed to align with more of a touring purpose, offering redesigned body mounts and a new urethane front bumper in place of the previous chrome unit. This Corvette from that model year is painted Mille Miglia Red (976) and features removable T-tops. The car is said to have been garage-kept long-term, and features include chrome brightwork, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, and exhaust exits at either corner of the rear end.
Steel 15” rallye wheels with polished trim ring and center caps are mounted to Road Hugger Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires all the way around. Steering is power-assisted, and power braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The two-seat interior is fitted with replacement Dark Saddle (422) upholstery on the high-back bucket seats, tied in to the door panels, dash, center armrest, steering wheel rim, and carpeting. Woodgrain applique provides accents to the door panels, and the overall condition of the interior is reported to be good although it needs some refurbishment to be show-quality. Convenience options include power windows, a modern Bluetooth-enabled stereo, and air conditioning. The seller states that the air conditioning has been converted to R134a but is not currently connected due to improper connectors.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and readouts in the center stack for an analog clock and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. An electronic tachometer conversion kit is uninstalled but included. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 57k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The newly-replaced 350ci V8 has been bored .60 over and features MSD ignition components as well as a chrome-finished air cleaner. Service items in fall 2017 addressed a timing reset, a carburetor and clutch adjustment, and detailed work to the suspension, braking system, air filter, fuel system, and more. The seller has provided images in the photo gallery which outlines a comprehensive list of nearly 50 service items that were carried out in 2008 and then 30 additional items completed in 2017. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
Photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes spare parts including the electronic tachometer conversion kit.
