This 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is a rear-wheel-drive example powered by a 3.6-liter flat-6 paired with a Tiptronic automatic transmission. The car spent time in New Jersey and California before coming to Arizona. Equipment includes the optional Advanced Technic Package, cruise control, power windows, power mirrors, heated leather seats, keyless entry, tinted windows, and headlight washers. Recent maintenance included new fluids and filters. This 996 is now offered with a CARFAX report and a clear Arizona title.
The body wears its original coat of Basalt Black Metallic paint and exterior features include an aftermarket MK1 aero kit, rear spoiler, and headlight washers. In addition, the car comes with the power sliding Targa top. Photos show scuffs on the rear bumper and behind the passenger side rear wheel.
18" Victor Equipment wheels are wrapped in 235/40 Michelin Super Sport tires, and a spare is secured in the front end compartment. Handling and ride are managed by 4-wheel disc brakes, front struts, and a multi-link rear.
The interior is trimmed in its original black leather and amenities consist of the Porsche Sport steering wheel, heated seats, cruise control, power windows, power mirrors, exterior temperature display, and a 12-volt DC power source. As part of the $3,240 Advanced Technic Package, the car is equipped with a Bose digital sound system with 12 speakers and a remote CD changer.
Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, 8k tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 111,470 miles, which the selling asserts represents true mileage.
Power is provided by a 3.6-liter flat-6, which was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque when new, and it is linked to a Tiptronic automatic transmission. The selling dealer notes that while the IMS bearing has not been replaced, the Tiptronic automatic is known to place less stress on the bearing and does not allow over-revving. The equivalent of a 100k-mile service was recently performed with all new fluids and filters.
The CARFAX report shows a history of three past owners in New Jersey and California as well as evidence of minor left front-end damage in November 2015.
