1976 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1976 Chevrolet Corvette is a two-owner car powered by a 350ci L82 V8 coupled to an automatic transmission. This Corvette was modified by the previous owner prior to being purchased by the second, and current owner, in 1996 where it was maintained by the Corvette Shop of San Diego. This Corvette has always been stored indoors and out of the elements.  Finished in a custom Brandywine Candy Apple paint with hand-painted pinstripes and equipped with removable t-tops disc brakes, power steering, power windows, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a rear window defroster, and a map light on the rearview mirror. The exterior of this show car has been customized with a variety of parts, including a custom Ecklers front end with exposed halogen dual headlights under clear covers, high rise vented hood, and custom bullet-shaped taillights. To complement the exterior modifications, the interior has been done as well. Diamond-stitched black bucket seats, carpets with the crossed flag Corvette motif, and an AM/FM cassette deck mated to a 10 disc CD changer round out some of the highlights. A vinyl front-end cover is included but not installed. The odometer shows just 85K miles and the car is offered with a clean title in the seller's name.

The car has been repainted in House of Colors' Brandywine Candy Apple paint detailed with hand-laid pinstripes. The paint is said to appear as a cherry red on sunny days and as a dark burgundy under cloudy skies. Seller notes there are sublte imperfections in the paint, some more subtle than others. The pinstriping has been applied around the taillights, rear license plate molding, fenders, doors, and hood accenting the cars factory lines. At the rear, the Corvette features bullet-shaped taillight lenses with a convex shape. Up front, the car features an aftermarket hood with a hood scoop while the original pop-up headlight assemblies have been replaced by exposed stationary halogen headlight assemblies under clear covers, part of an aftermarket Ecklers conversion. On top, the Corvette is equipped with removable T-tops. The seller states that black leather storage bags for the tops are included with the sale.

The Corvette displays brightwork along the windshield frame, on the rocker panels, and on the side view mirror mounted on the driver's side. The seller reports some rust along the windshield was sealed, the windshield was replaced, the reproduction 15" factory aluminum wheels were installed on the car in 2018, that the front tires are new, and the seller states the rear tires, rear brake calipers, and pads should be replaced at the end of the year.

The interior is outfitted in black with wood-grained accents and is equipped with power steering, power windows, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a rear window defroster, a map light on the rearview mirror, and air conditioning that blows warm air. The door panels are finished in black with wood accents. Drivers can operate the automatic transmission by using the shifter in the center console. The Corvette AM/FM cassette player is part of a complete audio system that includes a 10 disc CD changer behind the passenger seat operated by remote control and 6 speakers. The seller is including their entire CD collection with the sale of the car. Known issues reported by the seller are an actuator bucket for a seat belt rusted through, the driver side seat belt was replaced, the emergency brake is inoperable, one valve cover seeps, the transmission seeps when sitting the heater core needs to be replaced, a heat valve emits a fluttering sound, and the left turn signal stays on when turning left.

Instrumentation includes a speedometer and tachometer in front the steering wheel and a gauge cluster atop the radio. The cluster includes gauges for fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, and the battery. The seller notes the oil pressure gauge is currently not working. The odometer shows 85K miles, but true mileage is unknown.

Chevrolet's L82 V8 displaced 350ci and was factory rated at 210 horsepower. The seller states the last service work the car received included a replacement of the starter, oil pressure sensor, and front shocks in May of 2021. 

The seller states new front shocks were installed on the car in May of 2021 and a new catalytic converter was installed in July 2021.
