This 1984 BMW 633CSi two-door is a two-family-owned coupe that was subject to $15k in mechanical refurbishment over the past four years involving service to the engine, air conditioning system, suspension, tires, brakes, and more. Power is derived from a 3.2-liter M30 inline-6 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and features include a power-operated sunroof, 15” mesh wheels, a modern CD stereo, and four-wheel disc brakes. Finished in white over a tan leather interior, this E24 633CSi is now offered with service records, a CARFAX report, a factory tool kit, a car cover, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The first-generation E24 6-Series grand tourer launched in 1976 as a two-door coupe, initially based on the E12 5-Series platform but later switching to the E28 5-Series in 1982 when a facelift was performed. This 633CSi from 1984 is said to retain its original, glossy, and rust-free white finish and features quad headlamps, black beltline moldings, chrome mirror caps, a power antenna, and dual polished exhaust outlets below the rear bumper.
Aluminum mesh-style 15” wheels with BMW emblem center caps are wrapped in newer Firestone Firehawk tires. As part of a recent overhaul, the suspension received a new tie rod assembly, center link, and right idler arm. The front struts and rear shock absorbers were also replaced. Stopping power comes from four-wheel discs, and the brake booster has been replaced.
The four-seat interior is fitted with tan leather bucket seats, with similar materials carried through to the darker brown door panels, center console, lower dash, and carpeting. The black three-spoke steering wheel leather has been replaced, and the dash is reported to be free of cracks. A newer JVC AM/FM/CD audio system is installed, and additional amenities include power windows, power door locks, cruise control, and a power sunroof. The seller notes that some of the power seat functions are not working, the trip computer does not work, and the rear defroster is inoperative.
Instrumentation was reconditioned as part of the refurbishment and includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 118k miles, although the exact true mileage is unknown according to the seller, as the speedometer cable was inoperative for an undetermined time under prior ownership.
The 3.2-liter M30 inline-6 received an oil change within the last 2,000 miles and was subject to extensive mechanical work by a specialty repair facility, Fremont Foreign Auto, within the last few years. Among the items addressed were the air conditioning receiver, dryer, and compressor, the driveshaft U-joint, shift rod seal, and input shaft seal, the heater switch and motor, the valve cover gasket, both front window motors, the sunroof seal, the fuel pump gasket, coolant temperature sensor, idle control unit, power antenna, battery, wiper motor, and windshield washer pump. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
The sale includes service records and a car cover.
