This 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE is an unmodified 4-door sedan that features the original 4.5-liter V8 engine, a restored interior, a full mechanical servicing indicating that everything is in working order and a fresh Mercedes White paint job. Equipment includes power steering, power brakes, a rear window defroster, an original Becker Europa AM/FM radio, wood interior trim, air conditioning, power windows, a working sunroof, vent windows, and MB-Tex upholstery. The 280SE has 85K miles and a clear California title.
The 280SE has been repainted in a cream color named Mercedes White and features many chrome pieces, including the grille, upper and lower trim, bumpers, and tailpipe extensions. The car is also equipped with a chrome rear view mirror mounted on the driver side door.
In 1972, new car buyers could purchase a Mercedes-Benz 280SE or a 280SEL. The 280SEL featured a longer wheelbase than the 280SE. The example here is the shorter wheelbase 280SE and features silver wheels with Mercedes-Benz logos on the center caps that are wrapped in new Milestar whitewall tires. Slowing and stopping are aided by power brakes, and the seller states the brake calipers are new.
The interior has undergone restoration work and is outfitted in gray MB-Tex upholstery on the seats, door panels, dash pad, and sun visors. The car is also equipped with wood trim on the dashboard, a rear window defroster, an original Becker Europa AM/FM radio, air conditioning, power windows, power steering and a sunroof. While drivers can operate the automatic transmission with the shifter mounted on the steering column, the controls for the power windows are mounted in the center console.
Behind the steering wheel are gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and speed. The five-digit odometer shows 85K miles.
The fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 is coupled with an automatic transmission and was factory-rated at 230 horsepower. Recent work on the car includes an air conditioning recharge and a tune up in August of 2021, and a full mechanical servicing indicating that everything is in working order. The seller is offering some service records along with car.
The trunk features a full-size spare tire.
