This 1953 Buick Super Series 50 is an unrestored, 2-door hardtop coupe with an all original and unmodified drivetrain comprised of a 322ci V8 coupled to an automatic Dynaflow transmission. The seller states that everything is in working order on this extremely nice example that spent 30 years in storage. Equipment includes an adjustable antenna mounted on the windshield frame, a heater, a defroster, a radio, power steering, and a 12 Volt electrical system. The Buick has 45K miles on the odometer and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in two-tone light blue and white with chrome bumpers and stainless-steel trim. The seller reports the stainless steel is free of dings, the car has never been repainted, and the glass is “like new”. At the front, the Buick features manually operated vent windows.
In 1953, new car buyers could choose between the Super and Roadmaster models. One difference between the two models is the number of Ventiports or portholes on the front fenders. While the Roadmaster displayed four Ventiports on the front fenders, the Supermodel featured three Ventiports. Steel wheels are fitted with chrome hubcaps and wrapped in new radial whitewall tires mounted on the car approximately six months ago.
The interior is outfitted in blue and features an adjustable antenna mounted on the windshield frame, a split-bench seat in front, a bench seat in the rear, a radio, heater, defroster, power steering, and a 12 Volt electrical system. Drivers can operate the automatic transmission using the column-mounted shifter. The seller states the steering wheel is “like new”.
Instrumentation includes a speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The 5-digit odometer shows 45K miles, and 500 of these were added by the seller.
The 322ci V8 was factory-rated at 170 horsepower and routes engine power to the rear wheels through a Dynaflow automatic transmission. One photo indicates the car is equipped with a newer Interstate battery. Some service records for the car are available., and the seller states the car “runs like a top”.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
A sign displaying information about the car will go with the car, and the trunk is fitted with some carpeting.
