This 1964 GTO Convertible is a first-year example factory equipped with a Tri-Power 389ci V8, four-speed manual and a white power convertible top. Built at the Pontiac Michigan plant and finished in a deep red, this GTO was the recipient of a comprehensive restoration and is documented by Pontiac Historical Services. Located in San Jose, California, this documented GTO is offered for sale on a clear California title in the seller's name.
The front end displays the signature Pontiac split grille with chrome bumpers and dual headlights. GTO badging is present on the grille and lower front fenders. A white power-operated convertible top is equipped, with slight yellowing noted on the plastic window.
Factory chrome hubcaps with center spinners are mounted to 14-inch steel wheels and wrapped in Firestone Redline bias-ply tires, which are correct for when the car was new 1964.
The interior is equipped with black bucket seats and a full-length center console. Matching black carpet and door panels are equipped as well. An original-style AM radio is present in the dash along with controls for the heater. Features include power steering and manual roll-down windows.
Behind the wooden rimmed four-spoke Pontiac steering wheel and inset into an engine-turned dash inlay sits the speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge along with indicator lights for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, and charging system. A factory vacuum gauge is mounted on the center console with additional Stewart Warner aftermarket gauges above monitoring coolant temp, charging voltage and oil pressure. The 4-speed manual transmission is shifted through a polished shifter with a white shift ball
The engine compartment is highly detailed and features the a tri-power, triple carb set up, chrome valve covers, and a clean satin black finish on the fenders and firewall. Also seen here is the dual circuit master cylinder that feeds the four-wheel drum brakes. When new, the engine produced 348 hp delivered through the four-speed transmission to the rear wheels.
The underside has been restored, retaining factory-style components with the exception of a dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Additional photos are available in the gallery
Included in the sale is documentation from Pontiac Historical Services and a Best in Show Trophy from the 2017 Spring Turlock car show.

@Oldsuper – Is the motor matching number? ...
Sorry for the delay. Was not near my phone or computer for a time. Yes, both the motor and transmission numbers match.
