This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray sat in a garage from 1967-2010 before the current owner completed a body-off restoration in 2015 and full frame off restoration and power coating with all original, date stamped parts in October 2020. Power comes from a matching-numbers 327ci V8 that generates 300 horsepower while mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that was fully taken apart and put back together. Standard equipment includes bucket seating, power windows, power brakes, vinyl upholstery, and an AM/FM radio. This C2 Corvette is now offered with a clear Utah title in the seller's name.
The Corvette went into its second generation beginning in 1963, adopting the Sting Ray name for the first time. This example from 1964, finished in Satin Silver, was the recipient of highly detailed restoration and received a 94% score and Top Flight at the recent Scottsdale AZ NCRS regional. A white soft convertible top shields occupants from the elements and includes a plastic rear window. Headlights are hidden and exterior brightwork takes the form of trim, bumpers, light surrounds, door handles, and a Corvette Sting Ray badge. All the glass is correct, and it has an original windshield.
Two sets of tires are included; one set bias ply for showing and one set of radials for driving.
The interior is fitted with light blue vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, floor mats, and carpeting, along with a center console which splits the cabin. Amenities include manual cranking windows, and a vertically orientated five-button radio is installed in the center stack with AM/FM radio.
A 3-spoke wooden steering wheel frames the instrument cluster which comes fitted with dials for fuel level, battery voltage, coolant temperature, a 160-mph speedometer, and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Total chassis mileage is 92,000.
The engine was fully taken apart and put back together and power is provided by a 327ci V8 equipped with factory style valve covers. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.
