This 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 underwent a mechanical overhaul in the last two years and received a rebuilt and dyno-tuned 400ci V8 paired with a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. Riding on redline tires and Rally-style wheels, this first-generation 442 is described as a well-documented restoration recipient that benefits from replacement belts, hoses, filters, and more. Finished in Provincial White over a reupholstered Black vinyl interior, this 442 is now offered with service records, build documentation, and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The first-generation 442 launched as a trim designation on the Cutlass and F-85 models in 1964 employing the General Motors A-body platform, and in 1967, the model received a louvered hood, safety updates, and revised engine optioning. This example from that year was refinished in Provincial White (C) under prior ownership and the surfaces show good gloss and fitment throughout per the seller, accented by red pinstriping on the sides. The body features quad headlights and corrosion-free brightwork including the bumpers, grille, side moldings, window trim, and dual chrome-finished exhaust outlets.
Rally-style 15” five-spoke mag wheels with Oldsmobile center caps are fitted with 1” spacers and wrapped in redline tires. The braking system has been serviced with new shoes, and the suspension received replacement shock absorbers under current ownership.
The interior is trimmed with reupholstered Black (980) vinyl bucket seating, color-matched to the door panels, padded dash, center console, headliner, carpeting, and 442-branded floor mats. Amenities include an AM radio, a three-spoke woodgrain steering wheel, and wing windows.
Instrumentation is presented by a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, a fuel gauge, and warning lamps for other vehicle systems, with two additional aftermarket gauges mounted beneath the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 84k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 400ci V8 was removed, rebuilt, refinished, and dyno-tuned within the last two years by a specialty shop called 3GT Racing in East Lansing, Michigan. Work performed included replacement of the drive belts, filters, exhaust gaskets, and heater hoses, and the resulting powertrain output was logged as 400 horsepower at 4,900-rpm and 470 lb-ft of torque at 3,400-rpm. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a recently serviced console-shifted TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential.
