1955 Ford Thunderbird

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible shows 61,000 miles and is the product of a recent interior, exterior, and mechanical refurbishment. Power comes from a rebuilt 292ci V-8 paired with the standard 3-speed manual gearbox, and equipment includes working power seats, heater/defroster, fabric soft top, an AM radio, and aftermarket FiTech fuel injection. This first-year example is offered with detailed service records, restoration documentation, and a clear New York title.

The car was taken down to bare metal and refinished in Snowshoe White (CC: 2014) in July of 2018, reportedly at a cost of $18,000. Exterior features include a new fabric soft top, chrome bumpers and trim, a scooped hood, and dual exhaust outlets exiting below the trunk lid. 

Chrome wire wheels are fitted with whitewall tires, and handling is managed by a completely rebuilt suspension, a new manual steering box, and mechanical brakes. 

The interior is finished in two-tone black and white upholstery over power-adjustable bench seating with new carpeting. An AM radio is equipped along with manual cranking windows and heater/defroster.

Instrumentation consists of a 150-mph speedometer, 5,000-rpm tachometer, and dials for fuel level and coolant temperature. The trunk lining has been replaced in white and a full-size spare is mounted inside. 

A complete rebuild of the 292ci Y-block V-8 was executed in April of 2021 with the inclusion of Fi-Tech's self-learning throttle body fuel injection, a restored fuel tank, and fresh clutch assembly. The car is reported to run and drive smoothly and reliably.
