This 1985 Mercedes Benz 500SEC is a two-door coupe that has covered just over 63,000 miles from new and remains all-original and unrestored. Finished in Arctic White with tan interior, power is provided by a 5.0L V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Offering recent maintenance history, a power-operated sunroof, this 500SEC is described as mechanically sound, cosmetically show-worthy, and is now offered with a CARFAX report, factory manuals, maintenance records, and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Arctic White, both doors and the hood have been repainted, as well as the door handle surrounds and rear panel behind the passenger door. Factory equipment includes a power sunroof, power antenna, and fog lamps inboard of the headlights. Rockers are clean and still have the factory hard coat, and all glass including the windshield is original and in good condition.
Refurbished 16" Lorinser OEM spec wheels are wrapped in Vredestein Performance A/S tires that were purchased last year. The suspension has been lowered roughly 3”, and handling is provided by power steering and power brakes.
The interior is fitted with power-adjustable tan leather seats with a center armrest between the front buckets. Tan carpeting matches the dash, door panels, and headliner. Woodgrain trim is featured on the dash, door panels, and center console. The driver's seat does make a noise going back according to the seller but all seat functions, headrests, shoulder belts (actuator), clock, door locks, and headlamp bezels all work. Power windows, cruise control, factory radio, power sunroof, and automatic climate control is fully functional.
Instrumentation consists of a 160-km/h speedometer, a 7k tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The 6-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 63,000 miles, which the seller asserts is accurate and true.
The factory original 5.0-liter V8, rated from new at 228 horsepower is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. All maintenance and upgrades have been documented, including new motor mounts, body mounts, skid plate, H&R sport coil overs, Bilstein HD shocks, OEM oil pan skid plate, and euro headlamps with bezels. A rebuilt air conditioning compressor was installed last year according to the seller.
Additional photos showing the condition of the underside are provided in the gallery.
Original owners manuals are included in the sale.

@wthorp – what maintenance now needed ? in your opinion, would this MB get me back home easily ---500 mile trip ? if you were going to retain ownership what would be your next improvement ? why are you selling ? thanks , WILL ...
No maintenance required. No maintenance, (preventative R&R, required R&R, improvements) has been ignored or delayed upon inspection and/or failure. As far as improvements (for me) , none currently. Downsizing number of cars related to storage, practicality ("How many cars can you drive at once?" Only one my love.).
@Dknight928 – Would you be willing to assist in coordinating transportation? Thank you. ...
Yes. Within 35 miles of current location.

Yup. And beyond.
Within the jambs around the doors, trunk, etc. as well as undercarriage seams there is an abundance of the factory adhesives, waxes, and butyl rubber. Not rust or corrosion. Posted by the owner.
