Vehicle Story

This 1932 Ford Roadster was purchased by the seller in 2020 has been fully rebuilt and finished in hot rod primer over a red vinyl interior. The removable lightweight convertible canvas top in white is by Mercedes. The power for this rear-wheel drive is derived from a '53 Mercury flathead with dual carbs V8 engine mated to an S10 5-speed manual transmission. Specific performance enhancements include new tires, new rolled and pleated upholstery, and more. The roadster is registered as a 1932 Ford Replica and is offered with a current Connecticut registration in the seller’s name.

This 1932 Ford has a two-door fenderless body design with minimal exterior trim, featuring shaved door handles, and a blacked-out original style 1932 Ford grille. The front-end has a fully visible engine compartment, a fold-down white soft-top is shown in the gallery, and the seller reports that the rear fenders are removable. A low profile windshield with chrome surround was added along with chrome side mirrors.

Red-finished steel wire wheels on newer tires bear Ford-branded chrome hubcaps. The front axle is chrome plated with upgraded front disc and rear drum brakes.

The interior is fitted with a bench seat that has been upholstered in red leatherette, along with matching door panels. Gray carpeting with black floor-mat covers the floor and a polished long handle shift lever with black knob extends from the transmission tunnel.

Behind the two spoke steering wheel, instrumentation is provided by a series of gauges mounted at the center dash within a brushed aluminum bezel. At the middle is a 160-mph speedometer, and surrounding it are readouts for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The odometer reads 600 miles, which is said to reflect the distance covered since the completion of the rebuild.

This rebuilt '53 Mercury flathead V8 with dual carburetors is dressed in chrome valve covers and is reported to have received recent service work. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission from a Chevrolet S10 and a floor-mounted shift lever. The brakes and clutch are Chevy items. Approximately 100 miles have been driven since the seller's purchase in 2020.
