This 1992 BMW 535i sedan is a one-owner example originally purchased in 1991. It is finished in Sterling Silver over a blue leather interior and is powered by a 3.5-liter inline-6 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Modifications include a stainless steel Supersprint exhaust, 18" BMW 7-Series wheels, and an aftermarket head unit. Work performed within the past few years consisted of replacement suspension bushings and a reupholstered rear deck. This E34 is now offered with extensive maintenance records, owner's books, a clean CARFAX report with entries through 2017, and a clear Vermont title in the seller's name.
Dressed in Sterling Silver with black bumper and side trim, the car features BMW's signature "twin-kidney" grille, quad round headlights, fog lights, silver window trim, and a single exhaust outlet with dual tips. The seller reports that the car was driven year-round in 1992 and 1993, has been stored inside on blocks each winter since, and only shows evidence of surface corrosion underneath.
The car rides on a set of 18" wheels from a BMW 7-Series and is equipped with the factory option limited-slip differential and traction control. The seller reports and photos show a small dent in the passenger-side fender. The factory 15" wheels will go with the car, as will a car cover.
The cabin is furnished with blue leather seats, which are regularly treated with Lexol, woodgrain trim, and complementary carpeting, door panels, and dash. Equipment includes a 4-spoke steering wheel, an aftermarket head unit, dual-zone climate control, and a console-mounted shifter. According to the seller, the rear deck has been reupholstered in Ultrasuede and the car has never been smoked in. The trunk houses a full-size spare and the complete factory tool kit.
Instrumentation comes in the form of a 160-mph speedometer and 7K-rpm tachometer, as well as gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and fuel economy. The seller notes that a new board has been installed such that all gauges operate correctly, as do the lights, sunroof, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The odometer shows just over 161,000 original miles. The new cluster board comes with a 3-year transferable warranty.
Power comes from a 3.5-liter inline-6 that was factory-rated to produce 208 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. The oil has been changed every 3k-5k miles using synthetic oil per the seller, and there is a very minimal leak from the oil pan gasket after sitting.
The engine breathes through a stainless steel Supersprint exhaust, and the seller notes all bushings were replaced within the past 10k miles.
The CARFAX report shows that this car received servicing that included a new air filter and new power steering hoses/lines in June of 2014. The sale includes the original wheels.

For what it's worth, I did a quick search on Ebay and found a complete set of brand new replacement rocker panels for this car for around $300.00 delivered. Personally I don't think it is necessary to replace them unless buyer is doing a top to bottom restore/repaint etc. See link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/383703499216?hash=item595682c1d0:g:4ZQAAOSwLt5e2N-s
@scottemmons – Would like more commentary about rust before this auction comes to a close . saw clip of small hole that was explained could be fixed ? specifically where is the rust and are there any other small holes? Thanks SE. ...
Hi- the rocker panels near the jack points show a bit of surface rust, and small hole. I've jacked the car up repeatedly for the winter block placements and a bit of wear and tear shows from that, including small hole where I'm guessing the jack may not have lined up correctly. Nothing at all on either underside shows any soft spots.
@WDTHOMPSON – I want to clarify the "surface corrosion" comment in the listing. I can assure that there is no sign of any rust perforation anywhere on the car. There are a few areas that a small bit of rust is visible, but it is surface rust only. The jack points for example, where some very minor surface rust shows, easily addressed. Again, just wanted to attest that there is no "structural" rust or materially significant areas of rust anywhere on this car! The car and body is in great shape. Please let me know if any questions on this. Thanks ...

BID: $2,300
I just posted some photos of the OEM wheels that come with this car. They have been stored inside of my barn for 15 years and clearly not cleaned up for these photos! They are all in very good shape, a few very minor scratches, but I believe all to be true and round. The tires are all shot, worn and old rubber. Good looking OEM/BBS wheels, but I wanted a lower profile tire and larger rim so bought 5 of the 7 series wheels that are on the car presently. I am available to answer any and all questions on the car, take any additional photos you may want to see- so please let me know. Clearly I believe the car is worth significantly more than the current bid so please fire away your questions or let me know if you need any more detailed photos of any aspect of the car. Thanks for your interest in my car. Bill

@tbisbee – Thank you-just checking shipping rates. ...
We recently shipped a car to Denver from here. We live 4 miles from the Plattsburgh, NY ferry crossing and many car carrier companies use that route to Vermont coming from upstate NY. It may be more convenient and easier than Burlington if you are looking at car carriers.
@WDTHOMPSON – I live about 25 miles north of Burlington, in Grand Isle. The car has always been stored inside my barn on blocks, over concrete floor with a plastic tarp just to keep down any moisture. Thanks ...
