This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is a numbers-matching example as reported by the seller and is offered after many recent refreshments were performed inside and out with 74,900 miles on the odometer. Power is sent to the rear wheels by a recently rebuilt L48 350ci small-block V8 mated to an automatic transmission and equipment includes power disc brakes, power steering, a Retrosound stereo, heater/defroster, and air conditioning. Located in Baytown, Texas, the car is now available with receipts, parts lists, and a clear Texas title in the seller's name.
A fresh tan vinyl convertible top was installed to complement a black finish which was applied at an unknown date along with a red accent stripe on the hood. Chrome trimmings are furnished all around including the trunk lid-mounted luggage carrier, side mirrors, rocker panels and chrome front and rear bumpers which are present for their final year of production.
Factory-style 15-inch wheels are fitted in chrome inside a set of 225/70 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T's over power disc brakes which were recently refreshed as noted by the seller. Power steering is equipped to handle a completely rebuilt front and rear suspension along with a full parts list from Zip Products which is available for viewing in the gallery.
A tan vinyl bucket seat interior is equipped to match the convertible top complete with tan carpeting and black and stainless trim accents. The door panels have been replaced by the seller along with a Retrosound Bluetooth stereo and the car is optioned with a heater/defroster, air conditioning, manually cranked windows, and a tilt steering wheel.
Instrumentation is mounted behind the standard 3-spoke black and stainless steering wheel and consists of a 160-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer with a 5-digit odometer showing approximately 74,900 miles. Additional dials for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage and an analog clock are located in the lower center of the dash.
The clamshell hood opening reveals an L48 350ci small-block V8 paired with an automatic transmission which has approximately 1,500 miles of use following a complete rebuild by New Generations Racing in Virginia. Build documentation is provided in the image gallery including a full parts list from Zip Products and Corvette Central used featuring a Scat crankshaft, Howard's hydraulic valvetrain, MSD ignition, ARP hardware, and more.
A dual exhaust system can be found on the underside along with the aforementioned rebuilt suspension system.
The sale of this 1972 Corvette includes thorough build documentation throughout the course of the seller's ownership as well as a parts list. A video is available for viewing below.
