Vehicle Story

This 1991 Nissan 300ZX is a three-door sports hatchback that has been driven 96,319 miles since new and is powered by a modified 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with a replacement 5-speed manual transmission. This 300ZX spent its first 26 years in Georgia before being relocated to North Carolina in 2017, with service records illustrating consistent maintenance throughout the car’s lifespan. Features include removable T-tops, an integrated rear spoiler, Stillen suspension components, and a dual-exhaust system. Finished in red over a black leather interior, this Z32-generation 300ZX is now offered with a clean CARFAX report, service records, a car cover, a dynamometer report, a service manual, an owner’s manual, and a clear North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The first 300ZX went into production in 1983 on the Z31 chassis and was marketed in the Japanese market as the Fairlady Z. In 1990, a revised design launched on the Z32 platform and eventually included a convertible, a three-door two-seat coupe, and a three-door 2+2 coupe. This 300ZX two-seater from the subsequent year is painted factory Aztec Red (AG2) and features a custom front bumper, tinted windows, removable T-tops, a rear spoiler, and aftermarket HKS dual-exhaust outlets. The seller states that the car has been garage-kept since their ownership began in 1995, although the power-operated antenna does not extend.

Aluminum Enkei PF01 18-inch wheels are set up in a staggered fitment with 9-inch-wide wheels up front and 9.5-inch-wide wheels in the rear, wrapped in Hankook Ventus tires with new tires in the rear. Suspension underpinnings have been upgraded using Eibach lowering springs, KYB adjustable gas shocks, and Stillen sway bars and tower struts both front and rear. Braking comes from a 14-inch Akebono big brake kit with red calipers and drilled and slotted rotors.

The interior is fitted with dark gray power-operated leather bucket seats that are color-matched to the door panels, dash, carpeting, and Z-branded floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and power door locks. Customization includes Z1 aluminum racing pedals, a short-throw shift lever with a Momo knob, tinted windows, an aftermarket AM/FM/CD head unit with replacement speakers, a Concept amplifier, and a subwoofer. The seller states that there is some wear on the driver's seat.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 9K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for the coolant temperature, boost, oil pressure, and fuel level. The 6-digit mechanical odometer reads 96,319 miles.

The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 is original to the vehicle. The CARFAX report shows that the power steering hoses were replaced in 2016, and there are records showing maintenance at Sunbelt Nissan in Augusta, Georgia between 1992 and 2010. Additionally, the seller states that they personally changed the oil every 3,000 miles. A dynamometer test in 2014 produced a report that showed ratings of 419 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque from the drivetrain, which has been upgraded with Stillen intercoolers, Stillen racing pipes, Z1 stainless steel intake pipes, an HKS turbo timer, a Greddy Profec boost controller, a dual ram-air intake, and 616-cc injectors with a 300 Degree fuel rail. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission that was replaced along with the Kevlar clutch and aluminum flywheel in 2016. The seller notes that the plastic battery fascia is cracked.

Undercarriage photos can be found in the picture gallery.

The CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage reported. The sale includes service records, a dynamometer report from Z1 Motorsports, an owner’s manual, a service manual, and a fitted car cover. The seller has provided a video walk-around of the car.
